The Worst Darlo Player Ever

Post by MKDarlo » Thu Jul 22, 2010 11:45 am

Just having a chat with my new work mates and we were discussing the worst palyer ever to turn out for our respective clubs. I am torn between three for Darlo:

Steve McMahon
Clint Marcelle
Neale McDermott

Any input/advice/ other choices accepted!

Hmmn. Some that immediately spring to mind:

Paul Mattison
Keith Gilroy
Tony Kane
Paddy Deane (keep quiet, e4sby...)
Fabian Bossy
Jonjo Dickman

There will be others, of that there is no doubt.

What an original thread.

I've never seen this topic on here before.

That's your correct answer right there.

Unbelievably s*** player. That game he played against Leyton Orient where he was terrified of the ball coming near him was just astonishing. I've never seen anything like it.

As a kick in the jacobs points out, this topic has been done to death, its almost a monthly occurrence now. But let's face it, there's no shortage of candidates. It's a bit like asking what is the worst way to die? (Plenty of different ones but all equally awful).

Harsh.

Also harsh to pick on Dickman. He was woeful, but scored just enough semi-decent goals to pull himself away from the worst ever tag. The one into the top corner against Cheltenham in the end-of-season game we could have got into the play-offs (04-05?) springs to mind.

He was a regular in a team that came eight two seasons in a row, so I don't think you can class him as the worst Darlo player ever. He was shyte though, no denying it.

Nothing on Whelan/Deane/Chisholm/Kane/Bains/Knight/McMahon etc etc though.

Funny how all but one of those you've just listed were part of last seasons squad.

Dickman was pap, but far from the pappest. To be honest, he never seemed to touch the ball - he might have been class once he got the ball, but we never fooking found out he was so anonymous.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Keith Gilroy, who was brought in at the same time, never seems to appear on these threads, but he was a real one- game wonder. Although without the 'wonder' as I remember it.

Went on to do well at Burton though, so clearly had something about him.

Jimmy Seal, Bill Atkins. both goalscorers who couldn't score and I saw one of the worst goalkeeping displays from a Darlo keeper at Barnet last year from Nick Liversedge
