I'll never forget that Hereford away game in the playoffs. Went crazy when Gregan's looping header went in and just knew on the way back home that we actually going to see Darlo at Wembley.

Swansea at home at the start of 96/97 season, lovely sunny day, Darren Roberts on fire, Michael Oliver looked like some Brazlian signing wearing hair band, whole ground called Jan Molby a fat b*stard, and we won 4-1.

Most of games towards the end of 03/04 season as Hodgy was getting the club back on track and we pulled clear of the relegation zone. The 1-1 draw at Lincoln was a particular highlight.

The 3-3 draw at Reading away. We genuinely outplayed a Premiership team for the majority of the game and were cheated at the end by a handball goal.

Scab-boro away when we had 3 sent off and got pasted 4-1. Brumwell got a red card for an absolutely pyscho challenge. Andy Crosby got sent off first and came to sit with the Darlo fans.

I'll skip the obvious ones like the play-offs...

- First ever Darlo game against Nottingham Forest during the 1999/2000 season.

- Watching the stewards shyte themselves when Plymouth got promoted at Feethams in the last game of the season, two massive groups of fans charged at each other... and got along perfectly fine with no trouble at all

- Getting given a pair of 'keeper gloves by Andy Collett after a Mansfield match, still have them somewhere.

- The visit of the mighty AFC Sudbury in the cup, who took a shock lead in the first half. We won 6-1.

- Seeing Crossbar Challenge Car getting smacked and dented by a wayward clearance.

- Shaking Tino's hand as he was paraded around the pitch

Tons more, unsurprisingly almost all at Feethams.

Great memories but let go of Feethams - that's what is holding us back

I wouldn't say having better memories of Feethams is holding us back really. I am fully aware we will never return and accepted that fact a long, long time ago (though I imagine that even now some people are still holding on to the hope of a return ).

I'd love some great memories of the Arena, I really would. I just haven't really managed any yet, plenty of time I suppose and I reckon they'll be a fair few interesting twists and turns next season alongside a couple of 'derbies' so we'll see. Watch this space.

I agree - we need some Arena memories and fast. My best so far is probably v Luton last year, closely followed by the Bradford TV game with 3 goals in the last 10 mins.

Arena memories

- that Chris Brass O.G.
- the comback versus Bradford when Franz netted the winner in injury time
- the players warming up on the daft excercise bikes on the pitch pre substitution
- play off first leg game vs Rochdale

It has been somewhat of a cursed place for us though, with us normally on the receiving end of tight defeats e.g against Leeds twice in the cup. Losing in the games where we've had a big crowd - first game at the Arena etc.

A lack of home cup ties at the Arena doesnt help in the fond memories stake - hopefully our luck can change next year and we can have a little FA Cup run - we did pretty well out of it last time we were in the conference.

Though it was not Darlo, I'd add the England v Belgium U18 match in 2005. Hoped at the time we'd get a regular Youth International and we probably will when we get the playing surface tidied up.

excellent thread Mullet.

dunno if its been mentioned but the 4-2 facup win under hodgy and platt in 95 at the vic.

The pie boy incident.

Taking a piss next to Roger Tames in the old portaloos nr the tin shed, it was an honour.

Every London game i've been to.

Coming back from 2 down at scunny on the last day in 96 and Blakey nearly winning it in the last minute but hitting the bar (it probs never happened like that but thats how i remember it)

The sad sad day in the history of the club when Corky turned out without his mullet!

Couple that I don't think have been mentioned:

1st leg play-off game vs Hartlepool, but watching it on the big screen with over a thousand fans making the most noise the East stand has ever made! Hodgy and the team coming out onto the pitch before heading over to the Vic.

FA Cup replay against Solihull that went to penaties after Uriah Rennie played 10 minutes more that he was supposed to, allowing them time to equalise and us having a player sent off.

The Trevor Kettle match against Mansfield where I witnessed the most biased officiating ever - even the Mansfield fans agreed!!

Every game Gabbas played for us until the game against Rotherham when we blew our promotion charge and he was never the same again (for us at least).

So many to choose from, where do ya start?

My son being mascot for game agaisnt Bristol Rovers.

Mark Prudhoe 10 out of 10 in the mud at The Chokers in a 0-0!

Some guy returning from tuck shop (when it was in the corner near the west stand) with two cups of tea and ball rebounding off the tin shed and cracking him in the head, sending him flying and tea all over him!

The Orange Olympic Village.

Going to Swansea on a tuesday night the day i got my pot removed from my leg. Got Beat 2-0 and that stupid swan mascot of theirs running about allover!

Chimps in play offs!

My mates blagging their way down the country on way to wembley on the train and ironically making it to Peterborough before having to pay for the remainder of the journey!

Rochdale at home David Cork and Franky Gray!

Solihull away and Uriah Rennies masses of added on time!

ADMIN last year :o

That Burnley game at Boro!

Martin Smiths goal v Mansfield in Paint trophy.

My Sunderland supporting mate getting a huge chuff on when Wainy scored (Exeter i think) when he was on loan from Makems then telling us all he wont stay at Darlo for long!

Marco Gabbiadini

And many many more!

Getting excited everytime Hodgy brought in an exotic sounding foreigner... Leandro Scartascini, Willie Giummarra, Danny Barbara et al... And loving it when they actually did the business... Jesper Hyorth, Mario Dorner, Pedro Paulo, Jason De Vos.

Relegation to the BSP and three managers in a season, no big telly, 54 players (and counting), frozen pitches, and Darlo Pete in the moonlight.

You missed off seeing Kevin Gall in a Darlo shirt again. Surely a highlight of the season for you.

The Geddis header against Welling just seconds from the end, what a feeling.

Beating Burnley 3-2 in the cup at the riverside.

Away to Barnet in the conference, had to win to keep pace with them with games in hand. The best defensive display I have ever seen from Darlo, men against boys.

Beating the cods in the first leg of the playoffs at Victoria Park.

Missing the goal at Welling to send us back into the football league. So nervous I went walkabouts outside the ground, a roar went up and for a minute was convinced it was for Welling. What a feeling when I heard our fans chanting "champions".The drive back home was fantastic.

The best 2 centre forwards ever to grace a Darlo shirt, Gabbers and David Currie.

Great memories, more to come next season, fingers crossed.

Al if I am making the list for running into a post at the hangers surely Pete must sneak in for throwing a glove of piss over wayne.
A game that I loved was Northampton away when we scored 3 in the first 15 minutes and Mitch Cook scored the superb volley, obviously welling away and Rochdale at home to see promotion. Burnley at Boro and any win over Hartlepool although the play-off ones were pretty special.
Mind most weeks at feethams were a good laugh, probably due to our youth and stupidity and drunkeness, the day on the drink was usually the highlight of the day.
