Paul Heckingbottom

Caretaker manager of Sheffield United.

Is he the first ex darlo player to manage in the Premier League?

There could be somebody obvious but as I'm on to the second bottle of wine and can't be arsed to check, I don't know.

I also think he's got the most Lancashire/Yorkshire surname in the world.

Ken Furphy managed Sheffield Utd in the old 1st Division in the 1970s before the Premiership era. He was a Darlo stalwart of the 1950s and 1960s. Can’t think of anyone else since who played for us and went on to manage at the highest level.

If I recall rightly Brian Laws had a brief spell with us as a player, later managed Burnley in the Premier League in 2009/10.

Ricky Sbragia had a brief loan spell with us at the back end of his playing career and managed Sunderland in the Premier League 08/09 season after Roy Keane resigned. He was better known for building a reputation in charge of Man Utds reserve team late 90/00s.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

Paul didn't get off to the best of starts today, as they got hammered 5-0.

Getting close to the classic pub quiz question:-
Which team won the FA Cup but were relegated in the same season?
