Going to be another one of those games we need to count the keepers fillings before we shoot

Very impressed with Erico today, such a skilful player. They are putting an extra man on him but still causing them big problems.LoidLucan wrote:Sousa's excellent and we really should be in front.

Ten quid and no replays
More of the same second half and this lot are there for the taking.

Makes you realise how good quaker TV is when you see a stream from the division above like this. In fact Swindon had a similar standard to them too - we really are spoilt.
Sousa scaring the keks off them today

We've been the better team, Hatfield looks back to his best today. Good job we scored first as it looked awfully similar to the last two games.
Commentator seems to think Maguire is everywhere, mainly because he is also calling Charman Maguire.

Wheatley seems to be everywhere, sounds like he's having a great game. Campbell replaces Souza.

Magnificent effort by Mike for DFR to get there alone and bring us the commentary. Get home safe Mike.

Well done Darlo after a long trip.
Well done to those of us that chipped in with the travelling expenses despite the recent performances. It payed off.
Let's hope for a decent but easier draw in the next round at home.
Then at least the more judgemental of us won't have to bother chipping into the travel fund.

Hunt, Hatfield and McGuire’s best games of the season for me. Saltmer never made a save from memory and we missed a couple of sitters to make game safe. Storey did what he does for me, same as last year, you don’t really notice him but makes the defence stronger.
Great all round team performance with every player running their socks off.

Any chance of having that in English, partisan?
Re: Weymouth V Darlington FC FA Trophy
Not about being judgemental about our club just don’t think it is wise to be travelling long distances to play football matches in the current climate. Let me say I am very pleased we won today but it hasn’t changed my mind.Footifanreturns wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 5:18 pmWell done Darlo after a long trip.

No one else can travel outside their locality to exercise but part time footballers who have other jobs are asked to complete a 700 mile trip and stay overnight. Sorry I just don’t get it.
Re: Weymouth V Darlington FC FA Trophy
Great team & club effort all round. Hopefully we get drawn at home on 6th Feb, although TBF some of our best performances were away from home this season. Still £5250 into the club coffers and a go at another £6k next round.
Re: Weymouth V Darlington FC FA Trophy
What a good result and performance that was. Can't avoid how poor Weymouth were, no shots for Saltmer save but that was in part down to our good work.
Noticably played a good 10 or 15 yards deeper without the ball which helped made us a lot more solid. Going back to front a bit quicker also helped get them turned at the back and gave Sousa and Rivers some space to run into and get at them. More balls into the box from minute 1 which again gave us opportunities.
Player performance'wise thought that Storey didn't put a foot wrong. Whatever support he needs to be playing more regularly we should be offering it, the lad its quality and will only get better. Hunt showed exactly what we brought him in for. Wheatley and Hatfield both played well but with more structure than we've had for a long time. Rivers and Sousa both caused problems. Charman worked really hard and did well to win the flick on that lead to Hatfields goal. And thought Maguire was absolutely superb, his work rate and nuisance factor made it difficult for 2 decent looking CB's all day. Was very unlucky not to get his goal as a reward in the second half, if there was goal line technology imagine that one would have been very close.
Useful prize money in the bank. Hopefully we get a home draw in the next round because looking at potential opponents there's barely anyone north of the Midlands still in the competition.

Re: Weymouth V Darlington FC FA Trophy
Sides also through today:
Peterborough Sports
Havant and Waterlooville
Hornchurch
Maidstone United
Oxford City
Notts County
Sutton United
And midweek games:
Wealdstone v Gloucester
Aldershot v Solihull Moors
Boreham Wood v Torquay
FC Halifax v Southport
Bromley v Woking
Kettering v Leamington
Stamford v Hereford
Boston v Chesterfield
Not really fussed who we get. But we badly need a home draw, given the distances involved with most these sides.

Re: Weymouth V Darlington FC FA Trophy
Interesting interview with the Weymouth manager on their website.
The person asking the questions said that Darlington did well with their BIG MEN and energy all over the park.
Do you think he was referring to our 4 massive midfielders of Rivers, Sousa, Wheatley and Hatfield.
