Thought I would give this a bump up , as its 2 weeks to go, we are at £1375 of £3800 needed.

Could do with DFR giving this a plug or two tonight.

I'm holding back in case there are other announcements, which I think other people will be too. If there are none, I expect it to jump again next week.

Did I read correctly, that we're now flying There? If so, are we doing this without an overnight stay?

Unfortunately it will be a coach trip as the flight they were hoping to use has been cancelled.
So they will have to stay overnight.

Darlington FC really need this funding as an overnight stay gives us the best opportunity to win this tie , it's a long trip in a day then to try to compete a game is not desirable ,Best chance is to help fund the overnight stay,com on lads and lasses we can do it.we need to give the team a chance of getting into the next round.

Sorry onewayup but not going to contribute this time. Can’t really justify it as personally I don’t think we should be playing this game at all. I know it is not our fault to be drawn away at Weymouth but for me it is ridiculous that we should be travelling a700 mile return trip to play a football game during a pandemic that is running out of control. Common sense should prevail and I would rather see us withdraw from the competition than go ahead with this folly. Do not intend to stream the game either as that would be hypocritical.

Everyone is entitled to do what they feel is right, I am of the opinion that it is a chance to get to Wembley and for our level it's an achievement to get there.
I believe that the club and players are not stupid and take everything that's happening into account to be as safe as is possible during this CORONAVIRUS pandemic, I also understand where your coming from, stay safe.

Not sure about the cost being 3,800
Maybe that was with original plan of flying.

Overnight stay Weymouth premier inn plus mealdeal dinner and breakfast £60 each x 30 staff= £1800, room each

for that distance they will need at least 2 drivers because of the drivers hours restrictions

I think it’s reasonable to expect that this coach journey, predominately on ‘A’ & ‘M’ roads, will be concluded within 10 hours.

Two drivers are required, rough costs for Atkinson’s will be about £2000 for the coach and two drivers. Whether we *should* be taking more than one coach for distancing purposes is up for debate

We hear about football matches postponed because of unfit pitches etc, but wonder how many matches have been postponed because away team couldn't get there owing to weather conditions.

I can't remember hearing of any team not reaching a ground because of adverse weather conditions? I can, however remember hearing of a club that had a snowy weather forecast, a perfect pitch (amongst the best in Europe apparently), fantastic pitch covers for any adverse weather, professionally trained snow clearance operatives, massive support that could help clear a pitch, a polar bear supporter and still they couldn't get a game on.

The main roads are fine, so there's no issue with getting down there today.

I think the only accurate part of their self proclaimed achievements is the fact they have a Polar Bear supporter ...#TinpotSpendy

Back on topic - the total is at £2230 as of noon on Friday which is very close to the lower target of £2300. There have been some large individual contributions over the last 24h with someone even chucking £200 in!
I am reasonably hopefully for the game as Weymouth's home league record is W 1 D 1 L8
