That is exactly what we need a thumping 6-0 win to lift the spirits. Well done lads.
It has to be seen in context as Blyth are clearly the poorest team in the league but we played well and boosted our confidence and goal difference today.
Points to note from today for the future.
1. Minter clearly established as No1 in goal with 3 clean sheets from 5 games.
2. Reid’s best position is in central defence. Did make a couple of mistakes but reads (no pun intended) the game well and his distribution is good.
3 Tyrone is a striker and needs to play up front not in midfield.
Happy New Year and bring on Spennymoor!

Think that equals our best result at Blackwell Meadows. If remembering correctly we thumped North Ferriby by the same score in a blizzard.

Great win. Nice to see us put a team to the sword and go on and score 6. All very nice finishes aswell. Credit to Minter, not a lot to do but pulled off a couple of good saves when called upon. Thought the full backs were solid enough. Nice to see Storey back in the side and thought he looked good with Reid deputising well again at CB. Wheatley and Hatfield exemplary as usual, Sousa terrorised them, Rivers tidy in his play, Campbell tidy in his play and movement as always. But stand out man of the match by far Tyrone O'Neill. What a display. Been disappointed with him so far (granted he's rarely played in that role) but he hasn't been doing his basics well, heavy touches, loose passing. None of that today, dangerous all day and took both his goals exceptionally. Thought AA got his subs bang on too.

Let them in a couple of times, but think that was more to do with the 4-4-2 formation stretching us on a big pitch rather than particular player error. Considering we played an entirely new back 4 to those that started the previous game we can be generally happy with the defensive performance and cleansheet.

Onto Spenny away on Saturday. Hopefully all those rested today are fighting fit to come back in. Three points and we could be on the coat tails of the playoffs again with a nice PPG ratio and with all those games in hand.

Looks like it’s 4-4-2. Atkinson at RB, Reid at CB with Campbell and O’Neill up front. Storey back too.

Minter; Atkinson, Reid, Storey, Watson; Rivers; Hatfield, Wheatley, Sousa; Campbell, O’Neill.

That defence worries me.
It’ll be 4-2-3-1, or what actually ends up looking like a 4-1-5 at times.

Lack of cover for this makeshift defence is worrying, again.
Happy to be proved totally wrong. Anticipated Campbell playing off O'Neill with Sousa & Rivers both placed out-wide. Leaving Wheatley & Hatfield isolated in the middle.

Seems AA has recognised in his PMI that 3 in the middle makes us a lot stronger. I thought Rivers was outstanding in that midfield three today.
