I hope we are covering the pitch today as it is forecast to be minus 3 tonight.

Bbc site changed from -3 to -1 this morning so hopefully we will get a bit of cloud cover.

This really is a game we should be winning. If we have serious aspirations to get into the playoffs there can be no excuses for not winning this one especially with Spennymoor and Brackley away coming next. Come on lads time to step up the home form and give us a win.

Forecast is for more rain and temperature going down to zero, but not below. For second game in a row, I will have no regrets about watching it on QTV. Perhaps our next fundraising effort should be for a weatherproof box for the commentary team? At least the pitch has not had heavy usage this season, no rugby scrummaging and it seemed not to cut up v Spennymoor.

Hopefully we can pick up that elusive first league win of the season tomorrow. No disrespect to Blyth but they're in a bad way and they're the kind of team we need to be beating if we climb the league. For me we have to stick with the 4-3-3 that made us solid vs Spenny.

Second game in a couple of days I'd be tempted to go with a little bit of rotation, especially players who cover a lot of ground, don't want players out for 2 or 3 weeks after a hamstring strain, could mean they miss 6 or 7 games. Would bring Hedley in for McMahon at RB. From the looks of the way he went down Laing could be out for some time. Though Reid did very well on Boxing Day I'd still prefer Storey in there with Hunt at the centre of defence. Liddle is fresh back from a hamstring strain I'd rather he was rested and brought back in vs Spenny. Midfield is a tough one, the three that started are definitely our best combo, but maybe looking at the squad we lack a little bit of depth in the CM department to rest Hatfield or Holness when they're carrying knocks. Sousa covers a lot of ground give him a little rest to keep him fresh for the next couple of away games at Spenny and Brackley. Love for Charman to be fit as feel he could put an unconfident defence to the sword, but would be happy to stick with Maguire, without gale force winds perhaps we can play in more of a way to get him in the game.

(If Charman isn't fit enough to play) I'd go for:

‐-------------------- Minter ----------------------
Hedley ----- Hunt --- Storey --- Watson
-- Hatfield --- Wheatley --- Holness ---
Rivers --------- Maguire ------ Campbell

Subs: Atkinson, Sousa, O'Neill, Hudson, Reid

Well there is a pretty hard frost atm pretty close to BM. There will be problems if the pitch isn't covered, as it's going to be really cold tomorrow.

Was out at 7am this morning and no chance the game is in any danger.

No frost at all.

I think Darlo(serial weather troll)Pete's "heavy frost" disappeared with his "lots of lying water" from a few days ago.

According to official website Charman and Hedley definitely out through injury and Holness unlikely to be fit. That limits how many changes are likely to be made for today.
Would expect to see Reid starting in defence alongside Hunt and possibly Atkinson in midfield instead of Holness. The only other change I would consider is whether Rivers plays instead of Campbell or Sousa.

 :| Might be another tricky one - Blyth gave themselves a boost coming back against Gateshead and that home hoodoo is still hovering. Would be happy with a scruffy 1-0. My only concern is how best to accommodate O'Neil - he's still the player he was last season. Nice to see Thompson again.

It will be interesting to see who AA plays today as it will be a changed side today. I would like to see us bring back Storey. Having said that I don't know what has happened to him since the Telford game and so Reid I think will start at CB. As Hedley is out McMahon starts but I would put in Watson for Liddle, given that he has just come back from injury. The defence were solid against Spenny but I think a we may make an odd change to ensure the legs are kept fresh.

In the midfield I expect us to make a few changes. Perhaps we will see Wheatley or Hatfield being rested. I would like to see Theo Hudson given a game as he looks like a neat player (for Holness who went off early against Spenny) and I think Atkinson may come in if Wheatley or Hatfield is rested. I expect Jaz to come in for Sousa. I think AA may start with O'neill if Charman is not fit.

I've gone for a different looking side to normal. The team I would like to see us play if Charman is not fit, given AA has said he will make changes is:

Formation: 4-3-3

Minter

McMahon
Hunt
Reid
Watson (Liddle was excellent against Spenny but may be worth resting him given he has just come back from injury)

Atkinson (if we rest Wheatley - defensive midfielder)
Hatfield
Hudson (Holness went off against Spenny and he comes in for him) - he offers pace and that burst of energy needed

Rivers (comes in for Sousa against his former club)
O'neill (offers height and his technical ability and comes in for Maguire, who I would rest for the Spenny game)
Campbell

Subs: Saltmer, Sousa, Wheatley, Liddle, Maguire.

The team looked solid against Spenny, but did not offer much in the way of creativity - and Spenny just put an extra man on Sousa to try and keep him quiet. Against Blyth I think we need an extra forward thinking midfielder - so I think Rivers will come in for Holness, who looked as though he picked up an injury. I would like to see more of Hudson, he needs to be given a chance at some point otherwise I think he will go elsewhere and I don't blame him. I also expect Tyrone to start instead of Maguire.

Looks like it’s 4-4-2. Atkinson at RB, Reid at CB with Campbell and O’Neill up front. Storey back too.

Minter; Atkinson, Reid, Storey, Watson; Rivers; Hatfield, Wheatley, Sousa; Campbell, O’Neill.

That defence worries me.

6 changes today. Storey comes in for Hunt,Atkinson in for McMahon. Watson in for Liddle in a much changed defence. Rivers and O’Neill also recalled.

It’ll be 4-2-3-1, or what actually ends up looking like a 4-1-5 at times.

Lack of cover for this makeshift defence is worrying, again.

Currently we are in 18th position in the live table & only 7 points off a play-off spot. It's amazing how a good result can lift a team & fans. O'Neill makes it 4-0. get innnnnnnnn.

5-0 McGuire scores, this will do our goal difference no harm at all. Oops now 6-0 with a lob from O'Neill.
