National League lottery money

You may remember there was a bit of comment from some clubs about what they saw as unfair distribution of the lottery money to help clubs playng without fans in the ground.

The NL set up an 'independent' review of the process. The link goes to a report in the Non-league paper about a letter from the chairman of the review panel to the NL.

I sent an email to the national league management when this distribution was made public, needless to say they didn't reply, pleased that they have been found out to be unworthy of their office.

Very interesting read thanks for posting this. Very damming open letter to those who should now be held accountable.

See statement below, we along with 11 other Clubs, have signed. Intriguing that 10 Clubs have not signed this. Seems strange as the statement is well written and thought out, and is non confrontational.

I thought the same and can't work out a connection between the clubs not signing eg York, Telford & Leamington are three of the missing clubs. Can't see a link between the position Lemington are in and for example that of York.

As you say, its a well written letter and seems to be for the benefit of all clubs in the Division. Also interesting its only the NLN clubs and not the NLS clubs

You are correct Spen in that NLS and almost 50% of the clubs in NLN are not included. Doesn't exactly present a united front to the Government does it?

I Don't understand why all clubs didn't sign this.

It seems to be for benefit of all clubs. Get the money first then argue over distribution later

All NLN clubs didn't sign because those who did benefited from the funding once proved they may have to pay back the amount over what they should have been given had the management distributed the funds as everyone expected and were told, that was by lost revenue the turnstiles for each club, we all know what a balls up the leagues management made of that, favouring clubs close to themselves.

That is clearly not the case as you have clubs that benefitted and clubs that lost under the scheme signing the letter and the same amongst those who did not sign the letter

Eg signing it were Chester - unhappy with original distribution & Blyth - "benefitted" under distribution
Not signing it - York - unhappy with original distribution & Lemington - "benefitted" from distribution

you are conflating two different issues

you are conflating two different issues - the NL getting the money and how the NL distributed the money
