Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
It’s been a quiet night, so I’ve done a bit of delving through our past results, since our NL season. banktopp’s hunch was right – there are only two teams we’ve played away five times in the Glue leagues and/or NLN: Curzon and Salford. If we include our Northern League season then we’ve played Spenny away five times too. There are six teams we’ve played away four times in the Glue/NLN (Telford, Alfreton, Blyth, Brackley, Kiddie, Spenny).
So, with no further ado, here’s our best and worst away records (in various permutations; league games only, no play offs or cup games):
Teams we’ve played 5 times in Glue/NLN
Salford: points available 15, points taken 9, success rate 60%
Curzon: points available 15, points taken 4, success rate 26.6%
Teams we’ve played 5 times in Glue/NLN/NL
Spenny: points available 15, points taken 10, success rate 66.6%
Salford: points available 15, points taken 9, success rate 60%
Curzon: points available 15, points taken 4, success rate 26.6%
Teams we’ve played no more than four times in Glue/NLN
Blyth: points available 12, points taken 9, success rate 75%
Alfreton: points available 12, points taken 8, success rate 66.6%
Spenny: points available 12, points taken 7, success rate 58.3%
Telford: points available 12, points taken 4, success rate 33.3%
Brackley: points available 12, points taken 4, success rate 33.3%
Kiddie: points available 12, points taken 2, success rate 16.6%
So, in summary (at last, they say) since 2012/13 our best away records against teams we’ve played at least four times:
1. Blyth 75%
=2. Spenny 66.6%
=2. Alfreton 66.6%
4. Salford 60%
And the worst is Kiddie (16.6%)
Of the 10 teams we’ve played three times in Glue/NLN our record ranges from a 100% success rate at FCUM and 77.7% at Boston and BPA, to 11.11% at Chorley and 0% at Farsley.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Am I right in thinking this will be the first time Curzon Ashton have live streamed a match? Does anyone know anything about this Film My Match set-up? We've been spoilt so far with the quality of our coverage and this will be a bit of a step into the unkown once you've handed over your cash. I've read of some real dodgy offerings elsewhere so I'm not sure whether to just stick with Fans Radio for this one.
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Stick with darlofansradio, not sure what you get from their streaming, I don't think it's there own a third party involved I believe.

I thought they filmed their cup game against FC United but could be wrong.LoidLucan wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 1:10 pmAm I right in thinking this will be the first time Curzon Ashton have live streamed a match? You would get to watch the game via streaming as opposed to listening only to it on Darlington Fans Radio or have the best of both- watch it with sound from DarloFans Radio and see the game but have a Darlington biased commentary as opposed to a Curzon biased commentary.

Seems Maguire & Sousa will come in to the squad tomorrow. Doesn't sound like from Alun's interview that Hatfield will be risked given the FA Cup tie is around the corner.
It wouldn't at all surprise me to see Minter get a start in goal given Alun's comments this week. I should imagine he will want to see him play prior to the FA Cup game next Saturday and then make a decision on who starts that tie.
Minter/Saltmer
McMahon
Hunt
Storey
Liddle
Wheatley
Reid
Holness
Rivers
Charman
Campbell
Laing, Hedley, Sousa, Hudson, Maguire

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Unfortunately you can't do that.. The Darlo fans radio runs about 30 seconds later than the picture....spen666 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 3:21 pmYou would get to watch the game via streaming as opposed to listening only to it on Darlington Fans Radio or have the best of both- watch it with sound from DarloFans Radio and see the game but have a Darlington biased commentary as opposed to a Curzon biased commentary.
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Would Darlo get a proportion of the £6.99's?
No, don't think so. DFR for me!

I'm only streaming home games and away cup matches too. Saving my money for home games, programmes and 50/50

I have decided to listen instead of watch & donate
10 Quid to the GoFundMe fund for the overnight stay at Swindon instead.
Personal choice obviously.
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
I'm going to pay to watch the stream. It's less than it would have cost me to watch the away match in normal times. We'll be wanting away fans to pay to watch our streams when we are at home

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
I've purchased the game to watch, Curzon are like any other club who'll need the money. So I don't mind putting my fee in for it.
We advertise to other clubs to pay for our stream, so why shouldn't we pay for the other clubs streams against us too?
If fans were allowed to go, I'd have attended anyways. So £6/£7 doesn't bother me.

Judging by the forecast it’s going to be a wet and windy one, what’s their pitch like? Anyone

Went there last season, best playing surface outside the EFL without a doubt and a very nice ground as wellFootifanreturns wrote:Apparently the best in the leagueDarlopartisan wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 9:34 pmJudging by the forecast it’s going to be a wet and windy one, what’s their pitch like? Not quite sure why you'd support Ladbrokes when you could help a fellow club?

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Quite amusing seeing people say they wont pay for another clubs stream when we would like other clubs fans to do the same for us.
And paying £6 or whatever is still cheaper than paying to go to the actual game but no doubt some that wont pay for the stream wouldn't say no to going if we were allowed to, therefore giving Curzon even more money.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Mind boggling isn’t it? What do they think they’re doing when they go to an away game...
I’d personally quite like is to have someone to play when this is all over.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Away from home you can make noise and cheer them on.
Anyway, took the plunge in the end in light of what may be coming from Downing Street at 5.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Very impressed with our performance so far our pace is causing them all sorts of problems.
This stream is very much like a BBC red button stream, would’ve liked to have seen a replay of the goal. Makes you appreciate what a fantastic job our volunteers do.

Im finding the stream terrible, lost connection 4 times telling me doesn't support my browser. The commentary is awful but its still nice to be able to watch it

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
What's happened to Curzon? They always used to be this nippy, fast-paced side full of talented young loanees who never stopped running and played it on the deck. They seem to have transformed into a big, lumbering, lump-it-up and flick-it-on, set-piece side. They do look a bit flat footed at the back and hopefully something we can exploit more.
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Must say Sousa as well as coming forward well tracks back amazingly.
Regarding the performance. Just wow. Everyone on their game today. We simply haven't let them play. Hunt looks match fit now and has been immense.

Fantastic result
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Excellent performance and well deserved win. Special mention for Hunt Campbell and Sousa who were particularly good. Lets hope Nicky Hunt’s injury is not a bad one. Would be a big miss at Swindon assuming the game will be played.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
We were in total control from start to finish, our one touch football was great to watch, could easily have been 6-0 and on that performance we will be right up there in the mix.
No weaknesses today, every man did his job but for me Michael Liddle was outstanding. If there is a better LB in this league I would love to see him.A mention also for Sousa, his close control was superb....such a neat, tricky player who slotted into our system perfectly....great signing.
Great to get off the mark, makes your weekend all the better.Up the Quakers.
