Striker signs for the club
Quakers have today signed centre forward Levi Amantchi on a non-contract basis.
Levi, 19, started his career at Wallsend Boys Club before moving to Chesterfield, for whom he made his debut at the age of 17, and made 11 National League appearances in season 2018-19.
Since then, he has played on loan for Blyth (scoring twice in 16 matches) Staveley and Mickleover Sports, as well as playing for Middlesbrough Under 23s against Newcastle Under 23s in Premier League 2. He left Workington earlier in the week.
Levi will be included in the squad for Saturday’s home game with Kidderminster.
We would like to wish Levi, whose squad number will be 16, all the best during his stay with us.
Quakers sign Theo Hudson
Former Leeds midfielder joins the club
Quakers have today signed midfielder Theo Hudson on a non contract basis.
Theo, 20, started his career at Leeds, and starred in their youth and Academy teams.
He signed a one-year pro deal in July 2019, but was released in the summer without getting into the first team.
Theo will be included in Saturday’s squad for the home game with Kidderminster.
We would like to wish Theo, whose squad number will be 12, all the best in his stay with us.

Sounds like a bit of cover for the injuries picked up recently. Hopefully they do a job until others are available again.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

The reinforcements have arrived
Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
Sorely kneeded, welcome additions
Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
Good news with so many games coming up it is the right move to strengthen the squad to cover for injuries. Apparently Amantchi is 6ft 5ins so is something different up front and Hudson is a left mid/winger who could be a replacement for Holmes presumably.
Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
Was he at Blyth last season? In which case 2/16 probably isn't as bad as it sounds as he'd have had very few chances.
Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
Intrigued by Hudson - watching the game against Prescot last week I think we missed that option of going on the outside down the left. Hopefully both do well and earn themselves permanent contracts!
Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
Shades of last season when Hedley and Storey came in to bolster the squad due to injuries. Hope these two lads can do well and earn permanent contracts just like they did. Probably able to do this thanks to our marvellous fans and the boost the budget surplus.

Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
Seems like a very interesting signing, some very good comments about him from Leeds fans who thought he was the "real deal" at one point and deserved to be in the first team.Looks pretty pacey on a recent video clip and could be a great signing.al_quaker wrote:Intrigued by Hudson - watching the game against Prescot last week I think we missed that option of going on the outside down the left. with a name like Levi going a good footballer should be in his genes.
Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
Treble Post! But seem like decent cover for us.
Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
If no one mentions that the Board were in any way involved in these signings even Fat Josh might approve?

Cheers Lidds, his reccomendation is good enough for me.
Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
Harvey Saunders scored against Hull, so no chance of getting him back on loan. Hope it is his career taking off & his next transfer will give our finances a boost. All the best, Harvey!

Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
To be honest the lad isn't even 20 yet, so if it was a few years ago then it probably doesn't matter.
He has a chance to show us what he can do, if it doesn't work then no one loses anything.

Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
To echo what Super Les said, a certain Harvey Saunders when he was younger could be accused of running a lot with little end product. With an excellent attitude, look where he is now.

On paper 2 great signings, but the proof will be in the pudding. There has been plenty of times players have looked very good on paper, but not so good on the pitch. Welcome Levi & Theo, hope you enjoy your stay with the club.

Re: Quakers sign Levi Amantchi and Theo Hudson
New Darlington striker Levi Amantchi has left his former club “in the lurch” after leaving them just four days after signing.
That is the view of Workington manager Danny Grainger, who saw Amantchi join his club on Monday, only to quickly leave and then become a part of Quakers’ squad today.
“Unfortunately he has decided to leave us after the short period he has been with us,” Grainger told BBC Cumbria Sport.
We feel that we’ve helped the lad out and we feel that we have been left in the lurch a little bit, so we feel disappointed about how that’s happened.
Danny Grainger, Workington manager
“He has had an offer from a team in the league above us to try out there. Against our wishes and against what we were after he has decided to take it up, so that’s been a real disappointment.
“We feel that we’ve helped the lad out and we feel that we have been left in the lurch a little bit, so we feel disappointed about how that’s happened.
“We always said to the player that if there were things that were going to benefit him in the future we would never stand in his way.
“But we feel he’s only been given an opportunity to go a couple of leagues above us with an opportunity of maybe getting a deal when he was told he was going to be involved Saturday.
“We’re really disappointed, but it’s got to be right for u, it’s got to be right for the clubs and sometimes things don’t happen, they don’t fit right and this has been one of them cases. No player is bigger than playing for Workington, in my eyes.”

If the roles were reversed, we wouldn't be very happy would we? Yes the lad wants to better himself, but leaving a club 4 days after giving him a chance is a bit rich.

Presumably he wasn't on a contract there?
