To everyone who has read these updates (24 this season) and those who read them and commented, thank you.
I can’t imagine that the league will continue too much longer, if at all. Maybe an extended break, I hope it doesn’t lead to an ending of the season, how would the promotion places be resolved, and how would the playoff slots be decided as it seems to be the Top8 in contention, and only seven places available.

To everyone in the Darlington area, the North East, elsewhere in England and Great Britain, and finally around the world, may your maker (I’ll go with my God) look out for you, protect you and your loved ones.
I’m in Orange County (Southern part of the Greater Los Angeles area) not too far from Disneyland (8 miles) and the Coronavirus numbers are just starting to rise, as they are in England, we appear to be following Italy. My hope is our governments do what is needed to flatten the upward curve of positively identified cases so that the number of people who will unfortunately need hospital care remains under the ability of the medical world to care for them all. If we follow China and South Korea, the number of new cases will drop and each of our nations can return to a near normal until vaccines appear and we can all get that valuable protection.
And we can hopefully follow the Quakers in a 2020/21 season to a better season if there is nothing left for this season.

From my time in England back in December, I have been away 30 years since my departure in Dec 2019, from the three games I saw this season and won all three, at York, over Spennymoor and at Blyth, as well as highlights from Kevin Luff, my impression is we look like a Torville and Dean performance at times, beautifully choreographed, playing opponents off the park without scoring many. And then we fall on our backside and give up soft goals. I hope these issues can be resolved, we are where we are in the table because of our inconsistency, if we were able to avoid goal causing unforced errors, we’d be in the playoff pack.
Enough of my thoughts, here is the update, everyone take care of yourself, I hope to do another edition, I’ve been chirping since 2013 about this club, it’s what I do.

Kings Lynn;
Kings Lynn 0-1 Guiseley; After falling 0-1 at home to Bradford midweek, Kings Lynn fell today to Guiseley 0-1 from a 33th min goal. Kings Lynn still have two games in hand on league leaders York, trailing by two points, their recent form looks like Kings Lynn may not catch York.

Brackley;
Alfreton 2-4 Brackley; Brackley had a comfortable win today and rise to third in the table, scoring two in the first half (15 & 31 mins) and two second half goals after 56 and 85 mins to lead 4-0. Alfreton got two consolation goals after 90 and 91 mins.

Boston;
Chester P-P Boston; No game today.

Altrincham;

Ex Quaker Dave Syer’s 19th min equaliser cancelled out a Darlington goal for a 1-1 half time score. Despite conceding early in the second half and surviving a lot of pressure, three goals after 68, 72 (Dave Syers again) and 83 mins won the game for Farsley.

Darlington;
Darlington 2-4 Farsley; Darlington played for the start of each half like world beaters only to be undo by mistakes. Omar Holness scored after 14 mins, only for a soft equalizer from ex Quaker Dave Syers. it was 1-1 at half time. Darlington took the lead on 49 mins from an Adam Campbell penalty but in missing several chances and below par defensive play gave up three second half goals to lose 2-4.

Southport;
Southport P-P Gateshead; No game today.

Telford;
Telford P-P Kettering; No game today.

Alfreton;
Alfreton 2-4 Brackley; Alfreton fell to two first half goals, and two second half to trail 0-4 before two last minute goals made the score look respectable.

Thanks for your efforts again this season. Probably time to take a rest from the stats and self-isolate! Farsley was a massive shock to my system so may be some time before I recover.

Interesting game at wobbling Kings Lynn yesterday after which there has been a massive rant at the ref, including from the club's dodgy chairman.

1 the forward initiates the contact with the defender
2. Can’t tell from this angle
3. Get the ball but could have been classed as reckless
4. He falls over or dives.

Whining like this on social media just makes King’s Lynn look like sore losers. A bunch of whingers who think everything should go their way.

Quite simply, it’s tough luck. You swallow it up and move on because you can’t change anything. The bleating from King’s Lynn just makes them look like whiny bitches.

It would be better if they had more conclusive evidence as well.

First one looks incorrect but their players probably does himself out of the fouls by launching himself off the ground the fall looked entirely unnatural. If nothing had been given I am not sure much of a fuss is made it just makes them feel more aggrieved because of the caution.

The second one isn't conclusive and the third one looks like a foul by the king Lynn player. It's a solid tackle by both but the blue makes sure he follows through.

And the last one the footage isn't great but looks like nothing.

I wonder if the Coronavirus disaster is going to throw Blyth & Bradford PA a lifeline to avoid certain relegation.
