Going for the league championship, York's midweek home loss wasted a chance to add to their points lead, Kings Lynn with games in hand are favourites to win the league, they will go top on Tuesday night if they beat bottom place Bradford Park Avenue at home.

The playoff contenders, Boston earned two away draws and saw their lead narrow with Altrincham and Brackley. Chester, Gateshead and Spennymoor’s losses today assisted Darlington and Guiseley who are pursuing.

The playoff pretenders, Darlington finally won not just a game, but also an away game, and were assisted by losses just above them. They will need a new hot streak and some stumbling from Chester, Gateshead and Spennymoor to make a playoff place happen will and also gathering enough points to keep Guiseley and Farsley behind. Southport look to be sliding into mid table mediocrity.

The inconsistents, teams that look too strong to be relegated, but too inconsistent to move towards the playoff chasing group. Kidderminster and Hereford are moving up to this group.

The Blyth watchers, these teams may not be safe mathematically yet, but Blyth losing seven in a row, they are not threatening any of these teams. Gloucester’s point at Kettering helped them move a little closer to safety.

Just to analyse further Ginge's point about us needing a hot streak and others to stumble:

Let's say we got another 20 points. This is a record of 6-2-2. Tough, but doable. We would end up on 68.

Now, due to our poor goal difference, other teams would have to finish a point behind us. So, to end up on only 67, the following records would be needed until the end of the season from the immediate teams in the play-offs.

Brackley. 9 games left. 10 points, or a record of 2-4-3
Altrincham. 9 games left. 10 points, or a record of 2-4-3
Chester. 10 games left. 13 points, or a record of 3-4-3
Gateshead. 11 games left. 15 points, or a record of 4-3-4
Spennymoor. 9 games left. 15 points, or a record of 4-3-2

So there you have it. Our chance of making the play-offs hinges not only on how probable you think our hot streak would be mathematically, as well as any 2 of the above 5 teams having a record matching or worse than I've displayed.

Crazier things have happened, but I can't see us making it. What i'm really hoping is that we go to Gateshead with something on the line. If we slip up against Farsley, we really can forget it. I think anything from Boston is a bonus, but losing to Farsley would be disastrous.

Gloucester 2 - 1 Farsley
After 19 mins, ex Quakers Nathan Cartman and Dave Syers link up for a Farsley lead, but two Gloucester goals after 68 and 92 mins sink Farsley. Farsley come to Darlington on Saturday desperate for 3 points to revive their fading playoff chances.
Gloucester’s win widens their lead over Blyth to 10 points, Curzon Ashton are closest to Blyth but 8 points in front.

It looks like the game at Gateshead could be pivotal to our chances of making the play-offs. No doubt we'll have a large following up at the game.
