Re: Lambert leaves
Sorry to see him go, but am guessing that our priorities have changed in view of Tez's injury leaving us without much cover in defence. It may be that AA has another possible loan in mind, and Lambert's departure is a case of balancing the books. Reid did a great job in dropping back in 2nd half v Alfreton, but that was not why AA brought him into the squad. Perhaps Storey, Atky, Liddle, Tez & Trots are all further away from returning to match fitness than expected.

Re: Lambert leaves
Is this defos our doing? Do we know if Scunthorpe would have extended if we asked?
Wasn't the whole point to get him match fit for Scunthorpe? If not I guess could be an opportunity in the summer?
Do we know how long Storey / Liddle & Galbraith are out for. Is it worth spending money for the incremental benefit to the team or can we make do because I guess playoffs aren't exactly a 'must have' this season.

Re: Lambert leaves
Scunthorpe were happy for us to extend his loan and that was the plan until Liddle got injured so our focus has turned to finding a LB.

Re: Lambert leaves
Storey was in the bar afterwards and it sounded like he had a slight niggle. I reckon he’ll miss Tuesday but be fine for next week.lo36789 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 1:32 pmIs this defos our doing? Do we know if Scunthorpe would have extended if we asked?

I think Tez will be out for a while. Left on crutches and said he heard something click when he did it.

Re: Lambert leaves
One week we have Watson and Galbraith on the bench, the next we don't have enough defenders for Tuesday night. Not sure we can get someone in and by all accounts Guiseley are quite physical so I think Reid may have to drop in.
Back four of Trotman, Storey, Galbraith and Liddle out leaving us with Hedley, Laing, Reid & Watson probably for Tuesday.

Re: Lambert leaves
Listening to AA talking to Ray Simpson after the match, AA said he hoped to bring in a left back, so I think this is a case of balancing the books, although I doubt we were having to pay anything for lambert to play for us.

I'm sure we would've been!Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 10:35 pmListening to AA talking to Ray Simpson after the match, AA said he hoped to bring in a left back, so I think this is a case of balancing the books, although I doubt we were having to pay anything for lambert to play for us.
Re: Lambert leaves
Just redirecting finances rather than an indictment on Lambert. We need a defender as we have horrible luck.
It makes sense when we've got another midfielder (Bascome) sat twiddling his thumbs. I know Alun said he needs a loan, but maybe he will rethink with Lambert gone. The bench starts to look thinner with just a couple of injuries.
