Re: Will Darlo go for the hybrid model?
Im guessing a few national league north and south teams operate a hybrid model if the manager and/or any of there coaching staff dont have full time jobs as well as working for the club. The young players and those that are students who can live on the part time wages offered by the club could easily do daytime training as well as loan players from pro clubs. One thing as we all know is hybrid or full pro does not make promotion a dead cert and i always think windfalls from what cups etc should be spent on infastructure 1st and foremost. I remember north ferriby getting promotion to NL, was all a bit pointless as they could not get the ground up to scratch and went straight back down so what was it all for?
I may not live in the north east anymore but i still support the north east teams

Thought someone would have to get Spenny in. As an aside, what do the fan's do other than cross their fingers if the owner throws funds in? Do they organise a protest against excessive spending? Boycott the ground until the wage bill is in line with crowd size? Can't remember us, or any other set of fans doing that.

It's just a bit rich that the fan of a club where the whole edifice is propped up by one man's spending then comes on here lecturing us about sustainability in football club models. As we and plenty of others have discovered there is nothing sustainable about it if that individual gets bored, runs short of money or decides his priorities lie elsewhere.

I think we should offer Spen a consultancy position as he's always available with advice and legal and financial knowledge. He's obviously a highly qualified individual as he's gone to great lengths to inform us of this. Eventually perhaps he could have a place on the dfcsg board as he appears to be following the club and using "we" instead of "you". He may also enjoy the novelty of making a financial contribution as his current chair continues to increase his seven figure input.

Chatting to someone on Wednesday who’s knows, the £100k windfall will quickly disappear after paying of people who have loaned the club money he reckons they will likely make £20-£30k but should then be debt free which is a good thing. All the creditors know we have made money so they will no doubt be knocking at the accounts door to be paid.
