I wasn't expecting that side to be so uncompetitive. AA won't be a happy man that minds are focused on Wednesday and not the job in hand today.

Anyone know which positions Hurworth and Johnson play in?
Forwards. By all accounts Mason Hurworth is a real wunderkind. If either of them have real pace a la Saunders then may be worth giving them 20 mins, especially against Walsall.
I don't think they would be eligible to play , could be wrong first I heard of them was when you posted their names on the other thread, I hope I am wrong :D
To play in the cup they needed to be signed pre the first match. Youth contract can be counted. Similar scenario as when we were playing the kids in the Conf pre the fall.

For those who paid £250 to travel with the team - it will be a fun run back up the A1.

We're so playing for Wednesday here. Worried about tackling and injuries. Surreal after last week.

It will be back to square one if we get panned on Wednesday after this embarrassment ☹️

Tommo pen . The comeback is one. Does that put him level with Walshy

No, it won't be.

The money and interest from the cup run alone is a huge positive.

Disappointing but brings us all back to reality.

It sounded like we didn't play that bad but were all over the place at the back, looked like decision to go to a back 5 didn't work at all today.

We move on, this result just shows us that as a squad we can't cope with 3 players injured, 2 international duty and 1 suspended. Stretched us too far, I don't see any reason why this makes any difference to our current situation.

We have a hectic few weeks with FA Cup/FA Trophy and then league before we hit Christmas time.

It's actually 4 players injured... Trotman, Holmes, Atkinson and Liddle. When you add that to the two away, the one suspended and the recent loss of a goalscoring forward who had become crucial to our forward play, I think a lot of teams would struggle to cope with that. Just hope Galbraith's injury isn't a bad one.

One loss in 8 com,on lads after a tremendous effort last Saturday we got caught today to my mind it was the back line change that caused today's problems the lads didn't seem to know who was supposed to be where,, and gaps opened up very quickly, however the team played quite well. Onwards to the biggy Wednesday I think it will be a different strategy, and an improvement
We have got to off load shots quicker ,make the ball do the work passing man to man at pace and getting into the opposition box then make sure every shot made is strong and on target and make their keeper work, with 3,000 in there the players will have their twelve man.if you are going Wednesday make some noise let walsall know who we are .com,on Darlington fans,

There's no getting away from the fact that our forward options are severely curtailed now.

At least we sold out prior to this! Won the second half. Just curious-how did Lambert do and what was different after half time? I always thought we'd struggle today after last week's monumental effort and looking ahead to being available for Wednesday. Onwards and upwards.

Yep, we may have to struggle on until January but AA is certainly looking around and has been even when we had O'Neill, it just is a bit more required currently.

The next 2 months set's up the rest of the season, FA Cup/FA Trophy and the Christmas leauge games, if you come out of that in an ok position then you can have a very good 2nd half to the season.

Fans Radio suggested he done ok.

I would imagine he will quite probably start v Gainsborough next saturday.

Without a shadow of doubt we need a striker in asap otherwise we are going to lose momentum very quickly. I have faith that AA is looking at this and will have someone in for our next league game at home to Telford in two weeks.
