Comments
Although Darlington’s winning streak ended with the Hereford draw, the unbeaten streak is still there, confidence is there that wins will come, and optimism that the ascent up the table will continue.

The season is just over a third along, here are some thoughts,

Only 1 team winning more than 60% of their games, and by far the best away record in the league, surprisingly York have only won half their home games
...................... Pd .W D L..W D L...F...A..GD..Pts
01. York............ 16.. 4 4 0.. 6 2 .0. 28 .9. 19.. 36

Teams with about 50% of their games won, Chester are a strange exception with 5 away draws, but they have already played a lot of bottom half of the table teams, they may struggle away from home going forward to remain in the top 3. I’ve left Alfreton out, 7-1-7 is a lot of defeats already.
...................... Pd .W D L..W D L...F...A..GD..Pts
02. Chester ....... 16.. 4 2 1.. 3 5 .1. 32 19. 13.. 28
03. Southport..... 16.. 6 2 1.. 2 2 .3. 23 13. 10.. 28
04. Kings Lynn.... 14.. 5 3 0.. 2 2 .2. 28 22. ..6.. 26
05. Farsley......... 15.. 4 0 2.. 4 1 .4. 25 20. .5.. 25
06. Guiseley....... 15.. 4 2 1.. 3 1 .4. 29 23. .6.. 24

The middle pack, thankfully Darlington have risen into them, these teams are averaging about 1½ points per game and are on the edge of the playoffs. Everyone has a stronger home record than away record. Spennymoor and Boston have the potential to pull out, they have played only 6 home games. A concern for Darlington, 9 home games, 6 away so the away record needs to improve, (if those three away FA cup games were league wins, that would have pushed up the table very nicely!!!)
...................... Pd .W D L..W D L...F...A..GD..Pts
07. Brackley....... 14.. 4 3 0.. 2 1 .4. 24 11. 13.. 22
08. Spennymoor.. 14.. 4 1 1.. 2 3 .3. 26 18. ..8.. 22
09. Alfreton....... 15.. 4 1 3.. 3 0 .4. 27 22. ..5.. 22
10. Boston......... 14.. 4 2 0.. 2 2 .4. 20 15. ..5.. 22
11. Hereford...... 15.. 3 3 0.. 3 1 .5. 18 20. .-2.. 22
12. Darlington.... 15.. 5 2 2.. 1 1 .4. 17 18. .-1.. 21
13. Gloucester.... 16.. 4 2 2.. 2 1 .5. 25 32. .-7.. 21
14. Gateshead.... 13.. 4 2 2.. 1 3 .1. 15 12. ..3.. 20

A little off the pace, the home records are keeping them out of the middle pack.
...................... Pd .W D L..W D L...F...A..GD..Pts
15. Kidderminster 15.. 2 1 4.. 3 2 .3. 21 20. ..1.. 18
16. Telford.........15.. 3 2 4.. 2 1 .3. 22 26. .-4.. 18

The relegation battlers, if one team is going to push out of here, Altrincham, 5 home games, 8 away games, they have already played a lot of the top teams and drew some of them.
...................... Pd .W D L..W D L...F...A..GD..Pts
17. Leamington... 14.. 3 1 3.. 1 2 .4. 17 26. .-9.. 15
18. Altrincham.... 13.. 3 1 1.. 0 4 .4. 19 22. .-3.. 14
19. Blyth........... 15.. 2 2 4.. 1 1 .5. 12 28 -16.. 12
20. Kettering...... 14.. 3 1 4.. 0 1 .5. 18 27. .-9.. 11
21. Curzon Ashton 14.. 2 1 4.. 0 3 .4. 17 24. .-7.. 10

Conceding too many goals, looking like North Ferriby from a couple of years ago.
...................... Pd .W D L..W D L...F...A..GD..Pts
22. Bradford. ..... 16.. 1 2 5.. 1 1 .6. ..9 45. -36. .9

Good luck for the lads on Saturday at Walsall

Welcome home Ginge, your updates on our season are always welcome. It'll be interesting when you do your updates later on in the season, whether you'll be concentrating on the promotion/play-off battle or looking at who is likely to get relegated!!

I hope its the promotion/ play off battle after the form the team has shown over the last 6 weeks. We've had two tough seasons where we were looking at teams below us too much and whether the relegation trap down was closing in, not enough at how we are in the promotion / playoff battle

I hope after each block of games, possibly only one midweek update if there are Tuesday and Wednesday games, I am planning to do one each Saturday so it will be ready Sunday morning in the North East.
