Guiseley Away this Saturday 26th Oct

Post by super_les_mcjannet » Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:40 am

Whilst the cup run and draw is exciting we now have 3 league games to get through and hopefully come out of them in a better league position and still with momentum before the cup game.

One of our shorter trips this season and heading there with a run of 5 wins in a row, so hopefully should have a good following.

Guiseley have dropped off recently but that is partly down to the suspension of a couple of players, including the main striker who had 14 league goals before getting a 3 game ban and typical he is back v's us

Any money on Hatfield getting his first goal v's his ex team, he must be due one sooner or later. Also Armstrong may want to make a change or wait until Kidderminister on Wed night and rotate one or two, with Thompson, Donawa, Laing, Bascome & Watson all on the bench he has options to make some subtle changes if he wants to without reducing the quality on the pitch.

Anyhow thought I would try and move away from the FA Cup discussion for now.

One of the benefits of a 'poor' fa cup draw is that it doesn't become all consuming and take our eyes off the priority of getting a decent league run going.

With our recent form I'm optimistic we can get something from this.

FYI, there is engineering works at Leeds on Saturday night. It won't impact most as it's only from later on. But if you were intending on getting one of the last trains home...it'll be a bus!

Eurgh Guiseley the slowest journey ever.

You are less than 6 miles from the ground once you get around Bradford but it somehow takes another half an hour to get there.

Can't see it being on if weather stays as it is.

As the wet weather looks like holding on in Yorkshire longer than up here, I'd be amazed if the game remains on. I'll probably watch the Rugby Union semi-final & leave travelling until late, just hope there is no unexpected travel issues like last weekend on the way to Tamworth.

I'd be amazed if it survives this monsoon. I've taken the day off work to go tomorrow, I'm expecting to be at home all day.

If anyone has received the DAFTS guide to Guiseley email I would treat it with caution. The pub guide and some of the info appears to relate to Bradford P.A and not Guiseley.

And both West Auckland and Bishop Auckland.
Seems we haven't faired as badly up here than further south.

Good point, Vic👍 starting to get fixture congestion with Leamington, but nice to have the problem. Usually by now we have exited, but suppose we can blame Jeremy Corbyn & Boris😂
