Usually have a good hand pulled beer on and meat and gravy buns are excellent. I am certainly going, always enjoy this pre season game.

Yes I'm making the trip tonight, probably my favourite pre-season fixture after Whitby of course.

Just want to mention ‘Free kicks’ at the moment we have a few who can take a decent one and few who think they can take a decent one.
Left from last season we have Thompson Galbraith and Wheatley , now I might be wrong but did any of these score from one last season (not counting penalties).
We have two new kids on the block who can and have scored from free kicks, Hatfield and Bascome , so it’s about time these two are given a go .
Oh might as well mention corners and crosses most been over hit at the moment.

Got to say not a very good first half for Darlo, far to many passes going astray, good work for the goal .

I would sign him up as he has potential. I would go as far to say he would be in my starting eleven.

Yea got to agree this was his best showing, had a real good look at him tonight lot more controlled.
the game its self , poor first half , different altogether in the second with the changes.
good crowd from Darlo not sure of the numbers 250 ish.

Good performance tonight, although hard to draw conclusions , due to limited opposition. Ended up 0-4 and some very good individual performances. Much to be positive about.

I think the very warm conditions played their part in the first half, and whilst Northallerton were up for it, I think Darlo were playing a rather more measured game, although this sometimes slipped into the lackadaisical. As the sun faded in the second half Darlo looked far more on their game. In both halves we had a mixture of signed, players, trialists and academy players, so not a big problem to lack a bit of fluency under these circumstances. In the end could have had a few more goals, but had a few sticky moments in defence and were, perhaps, a little lucky not to concede at least one goal. But it was a lovely evening to be outside with a pint in hand watching our favourite team. All in all, pretty pleased with the evening.

Looks like Donowa will be signed. Not sure about Bascombe and Holness. AA was critical of some aspects of his performance after the last game.

Bascome is a bit frustrating to watch at the moment. He can make intelligent cross-field passes that find the man, but will fail to get a 10 yard touch to a team mate. He will go in for tackles, but, as he did once in the second half, stand off wondering to go in or not. The free kick at Eastbourne, if not a fluke, gives us an extra possibility which we sorely lacked last season. A few players were not quite at their best in the first half last night, so I think Bascome was not alone in fluffing his lines on occasions. I am beginning to see him as the new Clarke Keltie, a bit Marmite, but worth keeping.

I'd be amazed if we didn't try to sign him, pure class.
