For want of anything more interesting...

I see blyth have appointed a new assistant manager. I assume that will mean Holloway will be announced imminently.

Hopefully things start to get interesting again this week.

I've just recalled a memory of Barry Hutchinson going into a betting shop on Cockerton Green in 1966/67. Can anyone else verify this or any other sightings of our ex-striker from the days when players had to supplement their wages. Wasn't Ray Yeoman a psycho-therapist on the side?

Well, there was occasionally a touch of the psycho about some of his tackles.

Eddie Rowles used to do painting and decorating in his spare time, he lived in Hurworth and his wife Brenda worked for me as an accounts assistant. He was settled and thought we had the makings of a good side but she was homesick and mainly the reason he signed for Colchester.

I think Jimmy Seal did a milk round. This makes me think of the time when York were in the old second division and a few of their players came our way Eddie R and Seal but also John Stone who might have been the best of the lot. For want of ..... who was the best player we ever had from York?

Forgot about Gabbers, he would be ahead of Stone.

Eddie didn't stay long but impressed me out of a fairly ordinary team
