New Manager Interviews this week

Applications have to be in by midnight tonight.
No post today is there?
Going to be an interesting week, no approaches made to anyone, only those that apply will have the chance of an interview.
Just hope whoever we get gives us the lift we need to look forward to next season.

Hope we have plenty of good quality candidates. Does anybody know roughly how many people have applied so far?

Would be nice to know who is on the short list, but guess this would be too commercially sensitive, not to mention the privacy and Data Protection regulations!

Howay then folks who do we think has applied then? And who would you like to get the job?

I’d like Armstrong or Bower, but I think we’ll get Kelly & McGurk from Hyde or Clark.

A tense and speculative week or two ahead!

by the sounds of it, Armstrong will only get an interview if he applies. There will be no chasing by our board

Still don’t get, if true, why we will not be approaching people. In every part of life, employers try and poach the best people out there to improve their business and performance.
Fine, invite applications absolutely, but surely be also approaching the people they believe will be best for the job too.
Wait and see I guess, but a bit narrow minded in my view if we are not!

Then we get someone who is genuinely interested in the job enough to apply and not someone we need to bribe away from another club by waving a better salary at them.

Good point, but the last couple of times we needed a manager it turned a bit facial with us offering jobs and being turned down.
The board said there will be multiple interviews with some people. If they don't fancy the job after round 1 then they don't enter round 2. Simple and saves face both ways. Also means word can't get out and we hang our hat on someone who has no interest from the start.
Final point, doing it this way people at other clubs could express interest without their present club getting involved if nothing comes of it.

Load of unrealistic shite, pretty much expected from your previous posts.

We've had more than 60 applications of which 13 or 14 have the UEFA A badge or better, and we've somehow got to narrow them down to 7 or 8 for interviews. Last thing we need is to run around after other people who have not applied on top of that. We don't want anyone who doesn't want the job. If they were interested, they'd apply.

We are ran by part time volunteers, hey lets double their work load and make them run around after managers who aren't interested in the first place just to appease you.

Last time we did approach a manager, and that manager turned up thinking it was an informal chat - ie he wasn't that arsed.

Maybe anyone who the board might have approached had already applied?

Armstrong will have applied, he applies for every job going that might be perceived to be a step up from Blyth. He's ambitious and maybe has "taken them as far as he can"

But how far could he take us before hitting a financial ceiling again?

Looks to me like we're doing things in the right way to get the right person... someone who wants the job and has the right background, experience, qualifications and personal skills. Sounds like there's been a good response and on the list of those who want the job there'll be someone suitable who is the right fit.

One of them will lead us to the play-offs and the third round of the FA Cup and another choice might take us to the Glue League....

White smoke (fumata bianca) emitted from the chimney of Blackwell Meadows will indicate when a new manager is chosen.

At this point we can all express our emotions on the inevitable “Are we happy with the choice of manager” poll.

In line with tradition at this great footballing institution, the official news of the appointment will then be conveyed on paper, written on the reverse of the original facsimile sheet containing the Golden Share. This framed document will be carried out of the clubhouse by Paul Connor and Michael Bridges, both in full ceremonial garb and flanked by two ceremonial dog walkers selected from the ranks of our most fierce and loyal supporter fraternity. The official notice will then be left on display at the main gates of our Grange Rd residence for a short while before being swiftly be removed by a junior officer of DRFC, again in accordance with tradition

Think we have missed out on a fundraiser here. We could have done a TV series on this or at least a You Tube video. Obviously a spectacular event which i would have watched

Get yourself a sense of humour dear and stop taking yourself so seriously.

It was a funny typo. Have a laugh with it.
