Signed a 5 year contract last year, SS have money and they will probably be in this league next season, so it’s a good shout, but why would he leave.

Didn’t we give the ferret a similar deal after the pitchfork league blitz?

Maybe he would fancy being manager rather than assistant?Darlopartisan wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 8:58 pmSigned a 5 year contract last year, SS have money and they will probably be in this league next season, so it’s a good shout, but why would he leave.

Re: Who do we fancy then?
If you want a budget option then go AW with Thommo as assistant...30 years old, senior pro and all that. That would save a fortune
Re: Who do we fancy then?
Bower from BPA would probably have my vote, if we can tempt him. I’d think we have a bigger budget than BPA, so we know he can do it at this level.

Re: Who do we fancy then?
Do we fuck have a bigger budget than BPA, they're bankrolled. I know they keep on making statements that they're going to have to cut costs, but it never seems to happen.

Not if we’re on our uppers, no. Gotta be better than someone from the Pitchfork League or Chris Bloody Hardytheoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 10:31 amgrimsbyquaker wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:24 amIf you want a budget option then go AW with Thommo as assistant...30 years old, senior pro and all that. Has there been any indication as to how long it'll be before an appointment is made?

“A number of weeks” according to an email I’ve picked up from the club.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 6:17 pmHas there been any indication as to how long it'll be before an appointment is made?

Re: Who do we fancy then?
Thanks for that, I was hoping that a decision would have been made a bit quicker than that, but I guess it's more important to get the decision right, rather than appointment made quickly.theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:41 pm“A number of weeks” according to an email I’ve picked up from the club.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 6:17 pmHas there been any indication as to how long it'll be before an appointment is made?

Re: Who do we fancy then?
I'd hoped they'd had someone lined up and the decision would have been made within a week. Signings need to be identified and signed up as quickly as possible, otherwise other clubs will get the better players available.lo36789 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 5:32 amGo on when were you hoping for?Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:42 pmThanks for that, I was hoping that a decision would have been made a bit quicker than that, but I guess it's more important to get the decision right, rather than appointment made quickly.theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:41 pm“A number of weeks” according to an email I’ve picked up from the club.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 6:17 pmHas there been any indication as to how long it'll be before an appointment is made?
Re: Who do we fancy then?
Completely agree and a bit disappointed really.
They obviously have known TW was leaving so surely should have drawn up a shortlist of potential candidates and be approaching them in order. Can’t imagine any serious candidate is going to apply who is not on this forums list so board should have been more proactive in my opinion. Just seems to waste a few weeks that could have seen players get fixed up elsewhere.
Still, as long as we get the right guy I guess. In my opinion experience of this level isn’t as important as good man management skills, tactical nous and ability to build a winning mentality in the team.

Re: Who do we fancy then?
Darlo Pete, there is a process to follow, you can't just pull someone of the street you clown. Things have to be done properly.
Re: Who do we fancy then?
If they don't go through the process of putting out an application process then they could get in trouble for simply 'Tapping up' other clubs. They may have someone in mind, in which case this would be a means to an end. But it has to be done.
Re: Who do we fancy then?
Players are signing off for the summer - they won't be getting tied down to new clubs in the next week or so.
Contracts won't even expire until the end of May and there will be no training taking place until what July when players return.
Sometimes patience is a virtue with these things. The players we want to sign are those who are aspiring to return to full time football in the not-to-distant future, those players will be having trials with FL and Conference teams at the start of pre-season. I'd hope we can pick up some of these lads come end of July / early August.
Re: Who do we fancy then?
Contracts expire end of April for players at most clubs not in the play-offs but there’ll still be plenty of players around by the time we recruit a new manager. Watson didn’t do too badly at Gateshead with his 11th hour signings

Re: Who do we fancy then?
I think it would be pretty cool if we got a woman manager. Think of the PR, especially if we were doing well.
Waiting for Raj to shaft them!
Re: Who do we fancy then?
Depends if current FT or currently PT.

Re: Who do we fancy then?
Can we PLEASE look beyond people who have an "attachment" to this club and employ the best person we can? It is possible that people who have never played for Darlo are able to mange the club...............
