Well here we go again, no predictions , anything can happen and probably will. FC United manager blowing his top after their thrashing from bottom club Nuneaton , dropping established players bringing in the young thrusters and those who managed to avoid the cull , a final chance to give their fans hope , so are we up for it? the game that could see us safe, or are we................?

There was a game at Heritage Park when Gray played all kids. Or nearly all kids - and we won!

Hopefully get a decent crowd, with a few also coming from FCUM. I hope we go for it and don't just play for the draw, which would be good enough.

Has it been decided if today's game is going to be segregated? Wonder if they'll show the grand national on the big screen after the game?

Was that New Mills? Last game of 14/15 where we could only finish 2nd.

Won 3-1 I seem to remember

4 U21s and a returning captain in the FCUM line up. Holness in for Trotman for Darlo. Wheatley fit enough for the bench.

Full time

18. Darlington 38 10 13 15 52:60 43

19. Guiseley 38 7 16 15 42:56 37

20. Ashton Utd 38 9 6 23 40:79 33

21. FC United 38 7 10 21 45:76 31

22. Nuneaton 37 4 7 26 37:83 19

With two points, and a far superior goal difference over Ashton, we will be mathematically safe.

Yes we played pretty well against a poor FCUM side. Thought there support was excellent, far better than their team deserved.

The BBC have changed their mind and we won 2-0, that's a relief.

Thought we were good enough to win the game but far from what is required to be comfortable in this league.

Hmm, Luton once tried Manager Idol. Fun to watch for the neutral; hideous if you're a supporter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi4hNLvZVPM

its work in progress isnt it ....just my opinion the guy hasnt a clue and i think he came to this club with the training s*** he organised elsewhere and i THINK that was his backup...we have been sucked in and cant get out ...when was the last time anyone on this site headlined ...what a great performance ..going to tell every one in the town we have a football team..the northern echo is a fooking disgrace .. whos the p.r. at the club ? you need to get your ass in to gear, i know its not easy with a labour ass hole backed council who do jack s*** for the club

Even though we're now effectively safe, he didn't mention looking ahead to next season in his pmi...

It was good to get the win but we look far from a team and desperately need a proper striker. We have players that are nifty on the ball and can play a bit but we need a full on proper goal scorer, someone like how Ainge should have been.

There’s a theory that he might resign when we a safe beyond doubt. Something feels a bit strange about the present situation.

It does. It seems pointless even debating his suitability at the moment as we're in such a position of stasis. He's not going now, we might as well just get to the end of this month then look again. The board clearly have an idea about what is happening given they're preparing for next season, but I'm buggered if I know what's going on.

What's bothered me most about the way we've played under Wright is the sheer lack of intensity in anything we do, but particularly in midfield. It's so far removed from what made us so good under gray. I feel like we should be thinking of ourselves as a club that wants to play in a way that's committed, awful to face, move the ball fast and shut down the opposition in numbers and always look to appoint managers who buy into that style.

On another note, I wasn't there today but I'm definitely on board with omar holness.
