Help required with pitch covers for Spennymoor game

Post by DFCSG_Secretary » Mon Jan 14, 2019 8:32 am

Given the weather forecast from Thursday night through to Saturday we are planning to cover the pitch at 6pm on Thursday evening and remove the pitch covers at 9am on Saturday morning.

The more people who come down to help at Blackwell the quicker we will be able to complete the tasks. It is expected to take no more than 2 hours each time. Less if we have over 10 people to assist.

If you can help please contact Joe Peacock so we know the number of volunteers ahead of time:

email: joe.peacock53@icloud.com
tel: 07982 931678
twitter: @JoePeacock53

Needless to say, you don’t have to be available for both sessions, if you can only help at one or the other, that is absolutely fine.

Many thanks

Don't think I will be able to make Thursday, but will try. Will certainly be there for Saturday morning.

Apologies for probably pointing out the obvious but I trust those expressing their intended help with the covers on Uncovered are also informing Joe Peacock directly.

-1 on Thursday night into friday and no frost Friday into Saturday but sleet. Do we need covers with no real hard frost.

-1 is the air temperature, the ground will be colder, yes you will need covers.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

That might be -1 in the town centre, but it'll be colder at Blackwell, yes the covers are a sensible precaution.

If they didnt put them on and the game were called off then you would moan, it's great to see the club preparing early rather than last minute.
