At present it’s a straight choice between Nelson’s super strike V Ashton or Thompson’s lob v K’minster.
I’d go for Thommo’s goal. Watching it again it’s brilliant! The ball through from Hughes isn’t the easiest to control yet Thommo collects it cleanly with his right foot, then immediately produces an accurate long range lob that takes everyone by surprise.
A goal out of nothing.

Nicholson's screamer at Bradford should also not be ruled out of the equation. He ran from the half-way line before unleashing a superb shot into the top corner.

Nicholson at BPA for me.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Don't think Nicholson's v Alty should be ruled out either.
