Kidderminster V Darlington
Wouldn’t surprise me to see O’Hanlon back in at LB today, here’s hoping for a good result .
Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
In the Echo today Tommy said it will be the same 11 that started on Wednesday night, unless he is throwing a curve ball at Kiddie.
Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Let's remember Kidderminster did not play midweek, so hopefully their full-timers will be over trained and lacking match practice
Quakers cannot be as unlucky as in the Blyth game, so if they can keep up that level of performance, there could be some points to snatch at Kidderminster. Howay the lads!

Barring injuries TW seems to be sticking with the same mantra, 'if you want to keep the shirt give your all' mentality.quakerste wrote:In the Echo today Tommy said it will be the same 11 that started on Wednesday night, unless he is throwing a curve ball at Kiddie.

Don’t know if this is a match thread or not but Wheatley sent off and now losing 1-0 to a penalty.
Not a great start for Darlington

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
For me never a sending off or penalty.. Darlo getting nothing from the ref.. In all honesty a poor 1st half all round

A lunging tackle always gives the Ref a decision to make.. Did he get the ball??

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Half time report from my contact at the ground (I’m on holiday I’m Roscommon at the moment)
HT 2-0
Not working hard enough so creating nothing up front They're picking up everything in midfield Not easy with ten men Sending off has spoiled this game

Nicholson's only just come on. Inspired substitution
Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Feel like we need at least 10 points from next 5 games to do anything this season. Otherwise it could be another struggle.

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Sounds like we played 4 3 2 after Wheatley was sent off, isn’t the norm to play 4 4 1 after you go to 10 men
Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Game lost ,regroup and onto the next game at home, no good complaining we didn't do enough after losing a man, although it was a harsh decision by a poor refferee. It's gone on to the next game. Onwards and upwards with Darlingtonfc .
Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
We need some kind of back to basics look at our defensive set-up. We've conceded in every game and shipped a total of 12 in five matches now which is not good enough. Yes we have been able to get teams on the back foot with our attacking options but we won't get anywhere unless we can be more solid at the back. Granted we had a player sent off early in the game but maybe in general the set-up is a little too much orientated towards attack when we sometimes need to be meaner. At least TW now has a week to assess and get this sorted.
Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Don't worry be happy, we get what we can afford, some good days and some bad day to come, but hey that's what following darlingtonfc is all about, that's non league football for you referees are of inferior quality .

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Were we not warned by Nuneaton fans that Wright's tactics were too open and too often exploited? We have shipped 12 goals in 5, that isn't going to get us anywhere, the only saving grace is our goalscoring threat so far which has been improved. Tactically naive springs to mind with Wright at times!
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"
Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Can’t for the life of me understand why he didn’t go 4 4 1 and try to scrap it out.Having said that our defence couldn’t stop a tap at the moment.A really disappointing result after the last 3games but early days and all that.Six points from the next 2 games now a must.

Big worry is one clout to Styche and we're screwed. I'd say we're a one man band - lose Styche to injury/suspension and we'll really struggle.real_darlo_85 wrote:Were we not warned by Nuneaton fans that Wright's tactics were too open and too often exploited? Five games, one win and no clean sheets says it all really. Yes we've had a tough start but we beat Brackley last week so it's nothing to do with ability. We're capable but defensively so far we've gone backwards.
There are without doubt plus points - better striking threat, Wheatley and Elliot look a good combo in midfield (albeit Wheatley will be suspended now).
But I thought a few were getting ahead of themselves with talk of play offs after Brackley and Blyth. Let's not underestimate the impact losing the leaders we had over the summer will have had. The likes of Turnbull did a much better job than some gave them credit for when they left.
TW has earned time to carry out that rebuild, but results need to improve.

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
TW has confirmed that Wheatley's ban is three games. Sucker punch.
Re: Kidderminster V Darlington
Agree with this Gramps. We need 6 points from the next 2 games the table does not lie. Just watched TW post match interview, at least he was honest in agreeing it was a red card. He mentions certain players "Let us down and themselves down today" time to give others in the Squad a chance I wonder?Darlogramps wrote:Big worry is one clout to Styche and we're screwed.
