York FC: Initial Frendlies

No mention of the proposed DFC Friendly on the "initial list" ...given the time it has been known you would have thought it would have been top of the list ... odd

The club has today announced an initial schedule of three friendly fixtures which will be played ahead of the 2018-19 season.

League One side Bradford City will visit Bootham Crescent on Saturday July 14 (kick-off 1pm) and League Two side Grimsby Town will be the visitors on Saturday July 21 (kick-off 3pm).

The pre-season campaign will start with a trip to Northern League Division One side Shildon AFC on Saturday July 7 (kick-off 3pm).

City's players are due to report back for pre-season training on Wednesday June 27.

The Vanarama National League North season starts on Saturday August 4.

The only thing we should be going to Bootham for is a league or cup game. Its not an attractive fixture and will probably attract a poor crowd and then York will want their expenses out of it.Would much prefer a home game against decent opposition.
Of course a game atYork would be another opportunity to slag you know who off again for those who can’t move on.

Would be best for all concerned if the friendly didn't happen we were given 4 or 5 k in lieu and everyone got on with their lives.

Spot on JE93. Probably we would get prosecuted under the Trades Description Act - friendly - I think not. Would settle for the cash or possibly return of Bartlett (assuming Pears services cannot be obtained again)

Are York in a position to be able to pay thousands to us? Possibly not.
