Weekend Weather
Come on, Pete, must be time for a post along the lines of:
“Rain forecast for the next 24 hours or so, with more wet stuff (possibly white) on Monday. Are we going to get a game over Easter?”

Re: Weekend Weather
Fingers crossed tomorrow will be okay, but looking at the forecast for Monday I fear the game will be off.

Re: Weekend Weather
seen our pitch today, its in reasonable shape so we should be ok
Re: Weekend Weather
Actually , It's usually me. Being an exile I can only get to so many games so have been annoyed that every week it gains Friday into Saturday.
Rob , if Spenny is off any ideas if there's a contingency plan to switch to BM if It's OK?

Would seem a very strange move at this stage in the seasonVodka_Vic wrote:Actually , It's usually me. Being an exile I can only get to so many games so have been annoyed that every week it gains Friday into Saturday.

Re: Weekend Weather
Not really. Another postponement would mean their fixture congestion becoming virtually unmanageable.

They’re only a couple of games behind most teams around them. Still a few Thursday’s freeVodka_Vic wrote:Not really. Another postponement would mean their fixture congestion becoming virtually unmanageable.

Re: Weekend Weather
Bad weather for Monday in Spennymoor, the forecast is for sleet and possible snow from 08-00. There is no way the game could be switched at such short notice, especially with it being Easter.

Re: Weekend Weather
Quite a bit of rain overnight and it's due to rain lightly all day, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a pitch inspection. Given the state of the Spennymoor pitch, I'd be surprised if our Easter Monday game goes ahead.

Re: Weekend Weather
Weather forecast still looks bad for tomorrow, despite things possibly drying up today.
Re: Weekend Weather
No chance tomorrow. Don't think there'll be a game in our league. Shame we couldn't have switched it to 7.45 tonight before it hits.
Re: Weekend Weather
Doesn't look good. What a shame. Mind, Spens pitch might not have been up to it even for today.
Re: Weekend Weather
Someone on the Tin Shed reckons Spenny have covers on to keep off the rain.

I'm pretty sure the league won't allow us to play them at home twice!Vodka_Vic wrote:if Spenny is off any ideas if there's a contingency plan to switch to BM if It's OK?
Unless you ground share I'm pretty sure that's a no no.

Re: Weekend Weather
Covers or not the pitch wont survive the intense rain sleet and snow thats on its way.
Re: Weekend Weather
I am very hopeful of this game getting the go ahead, been dry mostly all afternoon, so I'll wait with baited breath
Hopeful of getting a yes for it to be on.
Don't know much about Spennymoor pitch condition though.

Re: Weekend Weather
Heavy rain in Darlo throughout this morning. I'm afraid a dry afternoon will come far too late, as the game will be called off this morning. I'm just waiting for the inevitable pitch inspection announcement.

Not sure which weather forecast you've seen, but it's rain all day long I'm afraid.onewayup wrote:I am very hopeful of this game getting the go ahead, been dry mostly all afternoon, so I'll wait with baited breath

Fingers crossed but bad weather moving in might change how it is right now.
