I've never seen that documentary either. Brings back some great memories of our Conference season. I remember going down to our first game at Wycombe and making a pledge that I'd go to every game that season. Well apart from 2 games when I'd already booked a holiday, I'm proud to say I kept that pledge. We certainly has a great manager, chairman and team.

Enjoyed watching that, little did we know that those would be the glory days.

I say bring back short shorts...
The ISL shirt is still one of my favourites too. Actually Brian Little's comments at the end were quite prophetic about smaller clubs climbing up the divisions 'if the league structure does change'. It was a change for the worse as far as I am concerned.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

No France skiing, I missed the away game at Kettering and one home game.
Re: Glory Glory Darlington FC Documentary
I missed 3 that season, Runcorn in the cup, Farnborough away in the league and Kidderminster in the Bob Lord cup or whatever it was called.

If only someone, at the time, had come up with a system of counting the matches that everyone had been to that season before ranking everyone in order of games attended from highest number to lowest.loan_star wrote:I missed 3 that season, Runcorn in the cup, Farnborough away in the league and Kidderminster in the Bob Lord cup or whatever it was called.
I wonder what it would have been called . . .

That Bob Lord Trophy game, 7 of us made the trip, I took Benny in the car. Then to just see us field a side of reserves. But I guess that was ok as the only goal was to get promoted at the first time of asking.loan_star wrote:I missed 3 that season, Runcorn in the cup, Farnborough away in the league and Kidderminster in the Bob Lord cup or whatever it was called.

(See Jimmy Willis) One of these days I am going to get into a taxi in Liverpool, the driver asks me who I support I tell him, he replies "I used to play for them!"don'tbuythesun wrote:Ask Pete!!

Thanks for that Henley a real good read. It beats the usual one with Cabbies here "I once had a trial for Liverpool/Everton" (delete as appropriate). I know a couple of cabbies in Liverpool will ask them if they know him!
