Brown
Sounds like he should be fit for the Blyth game, really hope so he’s been a big miss the last few months, chance to get Galbraith back to LB.

He's been a big miss... Bloody hell I could count on all my fingers and toes how many time people have called him in the past seasons.. I've never doubted his ability and commitment , YES sometimes he makes a mistake but he is only human and by the way he is quite skilful for a centre half... Sorry to rant on but it winds me when people say he's been a BIG miss.. I'm not having a go at you Darlopartisan just generalising

Re: Brown
Why does it wind you up when people say he is a "Big miss" are you saying you don't agree or that you were the only one who spotted it?
As a number have said Brown has been a big miss, pushes himself to his limit and is a very decent CB at this level. It will be very good to get him back, think him and Collins could do quite well together, we just lack that pace as a back four of Marrs, Collins, Brown, Galbraith.

Re: Brown
So what is your point exactly.Of course he has been a big miss, not only in terms of reverting back to 2 central defenders and slotting Terry Galbraith back into his LB position but for his obvious leadership skills.Yes he makes mistakes, who doesn't at this level but there won't be many Darlo fans sorry to see him back thats for sure.HarrytheQuaker wrote:He's been a big miss... Re: Brown
He obviously means two natural central defenders (surely you’re not that thick). Galbraith has done a decent job but he’s not a natural centre half in the mold that Browny is. Will be great to have GB back! Just need to sign a decent forward and we won’t be a million miles away.

Re: Brown
Brown will give the team a big lift if he plays, his presence in the heart of the defence could make all the difference tomorrow, in a very important game. If Galbraith can play left back it will give the defence a more balanced look.

Re: Brown
You're not thick, an unnecessary comment but par for the course these days. You were perhaps a little pedantic. Whilst we have continued to play with two centre backs, Galbraith is not a centre half by design. He is a left winger who found he was better as a left back. He is a little wasted as a centre half although does a decent job there.
Re: Brown
Thank you.Beano wrote:This whole natural position nonsense is irrelevant.
Galbraith has been excellent as a centre half, but is comfortable in several positions, as most players are in reality.
Nobody is born into a position in a football team. Being left or right footed is about as natural as it gets.

It will also be interesting to see who the new manager picks to partner Cartman up front.

Re: Brown
From what I read in today's echo looks like Cartman won't have a partner. Described his favourite formation as 4-1-4-1 keep good Shape out of possession and as soon as you win back possession look to attack with pace down the wings and in behind the CB's. If that's true looks like we'll start:Darlo_Pete wrote:From what he was saying in yesterday;s Echo, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Saunders.poppyfield wrote:It will also be interesting to see who the new manager picks to partner Cartman up front.
Bartlett
Marrs, Brown, Collins, Galbraith
Turnbull
Thompson, Portas, Syers, Gillies
Cartman
Subs: Wilczynski, Burgess, Wheatley, Caton, Saunders.
Brown
This would play to our strengths, which is a depth of quality in central midfield, and also our lack of options up front.JE93 wrote:

Cartman’s biggest strengths are his movement and link up play, but we’ve lacked runners to interplay with this season, but this approach may resolve this.

I quite like the look of this. It should make for a more interesting game than the 'hit Becky/hit Becky' technique previously employed.JE93 wrote:From what I read in today's echo looks like Cartman won't have a partner. Was Galbraith born playing left-back? Is it in some way ingrained in his genetic code?
Galbraith is a player who has played most often for us as a left back. He started out as a left winger so perhaps that's his natural position? Recently he's played as a central defender so perhaps that's his natural position. Maybe his natural position is in goal he just hasn't discovered it yet?
Natural position means nothing - it doesn't exist.

Re: Brown
So you are saying natural position does not exist??Terry Galbraith has played probably 95% of his games for us at LB,his natural or shall we say recognised position. When our regular centre backs were injured or suspended, MG switched him to CB because we had nobody else, he will now revert back to LB by our management team when Browny returns to CB, hopefully today. For gods sake man is it that difficult. If so can we please agree to disagree as you appear to take some strange satisfaction in reacting to other messages on this board not just mine.
