Re: Burgess
Pleased with that news, a good leader on the pitch. I presume he'll remain the captain?

Re: Burgess
So that is Marrs, Hunter, Brown, Burgess, Galbraith, Thompson, Turnbull, Scott, Gillies, Wearmouth, Beck, Cartman & Saunders all definitely under-contract for next season.
Question marks over Bartlett, Jameson, Wilczynski, Ferguson, Portas & Syers. I should imagine that Bartlett & Ferguson are contracted beyond this season (given the timings when they both signed + the financial outlay on Ferguson). Wilczynski was rumoured to have signed a 3-year deal (when he signed for us back in Feb). Gray has also alluded previously to having Portas back during pre-season.
The only one I am worried about slightly is Syers.

Re: Burgess
Brown has signed a 2 year deal - according to the northern echo article
"As well as securing current players in the squad to new contracts, manager Martin Gray is also speaking to potential new signings and is believed to be close to signing a striker."

Re: Burgess
All good stuff. The players more than proved they are up to this level of football with a fantastic fifth-place position last season (better than most of us expected) and with that experience under their belts they can be even stronger next time around.

Re: Burgess
I'm pretty happy with our strike force currently, but let's see what Gray has to pull out of the bag. Really have no idea who to expect/hope for. Any ideas?darlo2001uk wrote:Some things never changeJamesDarlo wrote: "As well as securing current players in the squad to new contracts, manager Martin Gray is also speaking to potential new signings and is believed to be close to signing a striker."
