Re: Appeal Result
Disappointing news, but not unexpected I'm afraid.
Re: Appeal Result
It's good that the rules are recommended to be changed in the future, but it does make it a bit harder to take that we've been denied a rule even the FA think is stupid
Re: Appeal Result
"Yes, you're right, it is a stupid rule. We'll change it. Later."
"Indeed sir, your soup does indeed have a fly in it. You eat up now and I'll make sure nobody else gets one."

Re: Appeal Result
"Yes, it's daft, but what can you expect *us* to do about it? We're just 12 poor chaps with absolute power over this whole situation trying our best to make a difference in this crazy world. Plus, you know, heavy lunch. Glenn here had lamb, it always makes him a bit drowsy. Please don't wake him on your way out, there's a good volunteer-run football club"
Re: Appeal Result
Not a huge surprise - ultimately we could've challenged the rule a year ago if we thought it was unfair and going to cause us problems.
Good to see it has now been brought to light and will be reconsidered. This may end up taking some of the strain off fundraising for ground developments if we ultimately don't need the extra covered seats in place by next March. Not that this should stop us trying to develop the ground.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Appeal Result
All appeals denied, for me the sooner we have money in place we need to crack on and get seats in and pitch upgraded, only way forward for us,
Darlington f.c going forward is a must,
With investors or not.

Re: Appeal Result
Cheesed off. Stupid rule. The Vanarama needs to give it's head a shake, listen to it's clubs and sort it out. Typical FA, fan owned club trying to make it's way up the divisions, just moved to a newly developed ground, met the FAs exacting standards but let's kick them in the teeth.
Re: Appeal Result
The problem is we didn't meet the FA's exacting standards, hence why we aren't allowed in the play-offs.don'tbuythesun wrote:Cheesed off. Stupid rule. Re: Appeal Result
It was the NL standards we did not meet would of if we had won the league that`s how stupid a rule it is

No we wouldn't.darlo reborn wrote:It was the NL standards we did not meet would of if we had won the league that`s how stupid a rule it is

Re: Appeal Result
Would of had till march next year to put seats in
Re: Appeal Result
No we wouldn't. 500 seats needed to be there by the end of this March to be eligible for promotion, whether by winning the league or the playoffs.darlo reborn wrote:Would of had till march next year to put seats in

Re: Appeal Result
Right that's the end of it.
Mistakes were made that need to be learned from and when that final whistle blows at Salford on Saturday (and no it's not their fault what happened to us so don't even bother banging on about them) the time for feeling sorry for ourselves is over.
I honestly don't care what the score is on Saturday either, I'm more interested in how things progress with this so far unnamed "potential investor" should be an interesting summer ahead.
Also good luck to Poole, Hungerford and Wealdstone for the future.

Very true to be fair if we are going all out for promotion next season you want the likes of salford out of the league

Re: Appeal Result
Can see Halifax winning playoffs on current form
Re: Appeal Result
"Interesting summer " .... we only need a new board , new volunteers, 250 K, possibly a new investor or/and a new management team and any where from a couple of players to near enough a full squad . I'd say a tad more than an average closed season .

A judicial review is now required
Re: Appeal Result
As long as it's one of the clubs that are there on merit and not the one that gets in through the back door because of our absence.darlo reborn wrote:Can see Halifax winning playoffs on current form
But we all know how fate usually works
That said,we're not guaranteed to finish top five but pleeeezzzeee let's beat Salford on Saturday.
Re: Appeal Result
Not surprised, but to say they'll consider changing them in future... come on. It's a stupid rule, if you're going to do it, bin it now.
It doesn't say a lot for the integrity of the competition when you have a situation where of 8 playoff teams across the north and south, probably 3 of them are not going to be allowed to compete because of a trivial, at best, rule.
