Bradford PA
Foul weather forecast for tomorrow. If heavy rain happens and no postponement, looks like a low attendance game. Must be honest and say that I, for one, won't be standing in cold rain for a couple of hours.

Re: Bradford PA
That's the spirit.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Re: Bradford PA
Sorry to disappoint.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I admit to being a 'soft' supporter, by the standards of many others. I am put off by nasty weather; I don't travel to away games; I do put other commitments first, if they seem more important to me. Age does have a part to play. I am sure there are others like me.
I am grateful for 'hard' supporters. Without you, the club would not survive.
And I am hoping the forecast for tomorrow evening is wrong!

Re: Bradford PA
There is also an England kickabout on TV to keep the "comfy footie" types at home tomorrow night so a poor attendance is a given I think.
Re: Bradford PA
Say our attendance for a Wednesday night game is 1400ish. Tinshed has a capacity of 1000, seats have a capacity of 298. That's in theory only 102 supporters who would have to find shelter in other less established parts of the ground. While I recognise lots more work to do around providing better and more sheltered vantage points, it's not as if there aren't any. Get yourself there and in the Tinshed, we'll stuff so many in there they will keep you dry and warm. Better than watching any of that England crap.
Re: Bradford PA
There's also space for a few to shelter at the clubhouse side where the seats are if it's raining. Not sure what the view is like there though.
Is there cover on the balcony? If not, I hope the media guys equipment is waterproof!

OK. No absolute promise, but I will try and get out of my comfort zone.
As an aside, I wouldn't be watching either England or Corrie (never seen that), if at home, but I would most definitely have DFR on.

Re: Bradford PA
Wish i could nip round the corner to bm. The weather wouldn't stop me. Remember that horrible night at Wigan, lost 3-2 to the league leaders, they scored from a free kick in the 6 yard box, teeming rain and local yoof chucking stuff.

Weather forecast is for the rain to stop by 10-00 on Wednesday morning, so rain shouldn't be an issue.

And the purpose of this post was?
Not sure why you felt the need to tell everyone you weren't going and then attempt to justify yourself with half arsed "it's raining" excuse.
You don't have to explain yourself to anyone, if you can't be arsed to go then you can't be arsed to go that's why I'm sacking it off.

Re: Bradford PA
Sorry you feel offended and apologise if my posting backfired.
I posted originally in the light of comments in another thread about not getting an average attendance of 2,000. I would have been one of those keeping the numbers down, for the reasons given. Others have tried to encourage me to change my mind - and they have tempted me to do so.
Hope that explains? I didn't set it to post for no reason. Again, my apologies if you see it that way.

Re: Bradford PA
Get yourself into the Tinshed. The wind is supposed to be out of the east tomorrow night so it should be nice and dry in there.

Midweek crowds always lag Saturday crowds whatever the weather.
