Comments in current full league table order,
Top 10, games, played, outstanding etc (need to complete this to Top 10 including Brackley)

Fylde, 15 played, remaining fixtures, home to Stockport & Darlington, away at Halifax.
2-2 home draw with Kidderminster. Fylde maintain their 11 point lead as the three teams below fail to win. Down 0-2 at half time, Fylde’s amazing comeback starts when they pull one back at 82 mins, Kidder got a player sent off at 89 mins, then players from each side are sent off around 93 mins (now Fylde 10 vs 9) before a 97th min Fylde equaliser. This week, Tuesday home to 6th place Stockport, next Saturday, at Nuneaton.

Salford, 15 played, remaining fixtures, home to Chorley & Darlington, away at Harrogate.
1-1 home draw with Stockport, an 80th min penalty earned Salford one point, keeping them in 2nd place when Kidderminster conceded their late injury time equaliser. Top 10 success continues to elude Salford, now 2-4-1 at home this season. This week, Tuesday night, home to 4th place Chorley, next Saturday, at Boston.

Kidderminster, 15 played, remaining fixtures, home to Halifax & Harrogate, away at Tamworth.
2-2 away draw at Fylde. A 2-0 half time lead was lost as 9 men Kidderminster conceded a 97th min equalizer to 10 men Fylde. The result keeps Kidderminster in 3rd place. This week, Tuesday night, at 8th place Tamworth, next Saturday, home to 9th place Harrogate.

Chorley, 16 played, remaining fixtures, home to Halifax, away at Salford.
1-2 away loss at Harrogate. Chorley pulled one back before half time but lose today. Salford and Kidderminster now have a one point lead on Chorley. This week, Tuesday night, a huge game at 2nd place Salford, next Saturday, home to Curzon Ashton.

Darlington, 15 played, remaining fixtures, home to Tamworth, away at Fylde & Salford.
1-0 home win over Brackley. Stephen Thompson’s goal wins the three points, two clean sheets in a row as Darlington leap into 5th place over Halifax and Stockport who both failed to win. A very important home win over a Top 10 rival who was also chasing a playoff position and had only lost twice away in the league before today. This week, with playing on Wednesday night, home to Bradford P.A., Darlington will know their playoff rivals results from the night before. Next Saturday, away at Gainsborough.

Stockport, 16 played, remaining fixtures, home to Tamworth, away at Fylde.
1-1 away draw at Salford. A good away result today, a Salford 80th min equaliser denies Stockport the chance to jump up to 5th place, instead Darlington take it. Stockport have been tough to play against for Top 10 teams, 3-3-2 away from home. This week, Tuesday night, away at leaders Fylde, next Saturday, home to 8th place Tamworth, including today, 3 tough Top 10 games in seven days.

Halifax, 13 played, remaining fixtures, home to Fylde, away at Kidderminster, Chorley, Harrogate & Brackley.
0-1 home loss to Gloucester. A 75th min penalty by now 10th Gloucester sinks Halifax at home today. Only 4 points (1-1-2) in March has caused Halifax to slip into 7th place with a game in hand (at Brackley) on Darlington and Stockport. This week, Tuesday night, home to Gainsborough, next Saturday, away to FCUM.

Tamworth, 14 played, remaining fixtures, home to Kidderminster & Harrogate, away at Stockport & Darlington.
1-0 home win over Gainsborough. A first half goal wins the three points to keep Tamworth in 8th place. This week, Tuesday night home to 3rd place Kidderminster, next Saturday, away at 6th place Stockport.

Harrogate, 13 played, remaining fixtures, home to Salford, Halifax & Brackley, away at Kidderminster & Tamworth.
2-1 home win over Chorley. All the goals in the first half with Harrogate winning the three points to move up to 9th place, 6 points behind 5th place Darlington. Harrogate can continue playing the spoiler role, taking points off Top 10 teams while chasing Darlington for the last playoff place. This week, Tuesday night, at Stalybridge, next Saturday, at 3rd place Kidderminster.

Brackley, 16 played, remaining fixtures, home to Halifax, away at Harrogate
0-1 away loss at Darlington. Another loss to a Top 10 team drops Brackley to 11th place, now eight points behind 5th place Darlington. This week, Tuesday night, at Worcester, next Saturday, home to Telford.

Forecast for the playoff games
Kidd/Chor/Sal vs Stockport / Darlington /Halifax
Kidd/Chor/Sal vs Kidd/Chor/Sal (impossible to predict!!!)

Why Stockport / Darlington /Halifax
Top 10 opponent games to play

Stockport, home to Tamworth, away at Fylde, also now 10th place home to Gloucester.

Darlington, home to Tamworth, away at Fylde & Salford.

Halifax, 13, home to Fylde, away at Kidderminster, Chorley, Harrogate & Brackley.

Halifax’s loss in form, and five difficult Top 10 games to play is not encouraging for them. Stockport and Darlington have two common Top 10 games to play, Darlington’s game at Salford is harder than Stockport's home to Gloucester. The 5th place may be decided by points dropped against bottom half opponents. Their last games, Apr 29th Darlington at Salford while Stockport play home to Gloucester at the same time will likely be huge for both teams.

The race for 5th place for 6 teams, their results have been added, the gaps show their outstanding games. For each team their home results are listed first, followed by their away results, all against their opponents, sequenced by the table on March 1st.

Thoughts
How to be a Top 7 team

(From last week)
Playing at home
Darlington 1-0 Brackley
Match the effort of your opponent, maintain your composure, keep it tight at the back, preferably with a clean sheet, take your chance(s), avoid being caught on the break, have a goalkeeper that will bail you out of any problems. If they are a weaker opponent, make the game secure or put it away by HT.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Christmas day for Darlington today, a win over Brackley, a home loss for Halifax, and Stockport only picking up a point. The team (listening to the radio commentaries over the last few games) seems to have learned lessons on how to play in this division, tighter at the back and getting wins to raise them up to 5th place.

The same celebrations were almost there for Kidderminster, leading 2-0 at Fylde at half time but a 97th min equalizer ruined their day.

A full round of games on Tuesday night, except Darlington playing on Wednesday, and then Saturday, I can’t wait!!!

Great to see we get a mention as a possible play-off team. A strong run in can see us challenge for 2nd or 3rd place.

Darlo_Pete, I want them in the playoffs as much as anyone, their recent improvement in form is why I added them to be battling for 5th place. They have made up 6 points on Salford, Kidderminster and Chorley this month, so maintaining this form can get them into battling for a home playoff game. Hopefully there will be points won at Fylde and Salford.

Here is how the Top 11 have done this year, and who's currently in good form

....................... Jan ........ Feb ...... Mar ..... Mar points

Fylde ............. 4-0-1 .... 2-1-1 .... 1-2-0 ........ 05

Great round up. Playoff semi-finals in this league are a home and away affair

Good summing up, but it may be some of teams we have played twice that steal points off those above us, as they have strengthened their squads recently. e.g. Nuneaton, Harrogate, Gloucester, Brackley, Curzon, Boston.

It's been a great time to be a Darlo fan and it looks like we are in with a decent chance for promotion via the play-offs.

There are a lot of "ifs" and "buts", as always, but the players now have the right tactics & spirit to continue with the improvement we have seen on the pitch.

Agreed, which gets rid of the anomaly of 'home advantage' for position 2 & 3 there was in the past. Just for info and to pencil dates into diaries, this is copied from the Vanarama site

Semi Final 1st Leg
Wednesday 3rd May 2017

Semi Final 2nd Leg
Sunday 7th May 2017

Promotion Final
Saturday 13th May 2017 Venue to be Confirmed

Does anyone know where the Northern final will be played? Or even, when that final venue will be decided??

I thought the final was at the ground of the higher placed club?

Undecided I think, they wanted a joint one for North/South at MK Dons but the clubs voted against.

May still happen at highest place club, maybe somewhere neutral.

Did hear a rumour if we get in the playoffs we need more seats at BM but I don't understand how the play-offs would be any different from a league game, so maybe it's an aspiration to bring the seats from Bishop to BM if we get through.
