Re: Saturday weather
I'd be more concerned about the constant rain that is forecast from the early hours of Saturday morning all the way through to Sunday.Alfie wrote:OK I'll get in first - forecast sugests it is going to be cold tonight - any doubts about the game going ahead.
Guess we'll find out how well the pitch handles wet weather!

It'll be showery rather than constant. I think we'll be alright unless we get snow overnight which could make the pitch extra wet when it melts.Robbie Painter wrote:I'd be more concerned about the constant rain that is forecast from the early hours of Saturday morning all the way through to Sunday.Alfie wrote:OK I'll get in first - forecast sugests it is going to be cold tonight - any doubts about the game going ahead.

Re: Saturday weather
The covers will be on so should be ok
Re: Saturday weather
Have they been brought through?.The last I heard was that they were too heavy for the van that went for them so they stayed at HP.HarrytheQuaker wrote:The covers will be on so should be ok
Also covers won't keep rain off,but fingers crossed,it's game on.
Re: Saturday weather
If we were still at HP, I would doubt that the match would be on, however Blackwell Meadows is a lot more sheltered and although we are forecast some snow, temperatures are supposed to be above freezing so shouldn't get into the ground. Hopefully drains will do their job so it is just a case of putting on thermals, wrapped in several layers and getting in the middle of the Tin Shed for warmth. Will be a tester for the fairweather fans!

Re: Saturday weather
No frost forecast for tonight, but if the snow settles overnight, then the game must be in serious doubt. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a pitch inspection before Altrincham set off.

Re: Saturday weather
Well no snow on the ground, but plenty of rain that is meant to be persistent for most of the day. i guess we'll see how good the drainage is.

Re: Saturday weather
It's so very very grim out there. But I can't see why it'll be called off. It's cold. It. It freezing. And it's raining but. It heavy enough to cause puddles on grass. The only risk is the potch is too soft. But that should t be a reason to postpone.
Although, I'm a pansy, so being stood out in the cold isn't really appealing. I think we're going to see the lowest crowd of the season today.
