Chorley v Darlo Match Thread

Post by Darlobaz79 » Sat Feb 04, 2017 2:30 pm

Interesting Team News...
Wilczynski, Falkingham, Ferguson, Turnbull, Burgess, Brown, Syers, Scott, Beck, Cartman, Thompson

Subs: Gillies, Jameson, Galbraith, Saunders, Blackford (new signing)

Looks like Marrs injured, Walker not good enough. Happy to see Cartman starting but would prefer Gillies for Thompson.

And so comes to an end Terry Galbraith’s run of 64 consecutive starts. He’d started every league match since Sept 21, 2015. From Stod's Twitter

3-5-2 in formation. That's a massive change of thinking by MG

Think it will be 4-4-2 with Falkringham at RB

That was probably our equaliser, going in unusually before the opposition scored! :D

Darlo go close again, doesn't sound like a great pitch.

Was is Gary Brown or Burgess with the goal? Flashscores have given it to Brown.

Well it's not doing it 'to see if it works' as you put it then, is it?

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Their keeper makes a great save from Syers.

Now their keeper makes a great save from a Cartman shot. Trust us to come up against a keeper in great form.

Just back from the match - what a contrast from last week!

Definite change of tactics, seemed to play the ball on the ground more rather than simply hoofing it up field for the Beck knock-on. Also kept two defenders back on the half way line when taking attacking corners or free kicks in the Chorley half to prevent break-aways.

Chances for both teams - could have been 4-4, will be interesting to see the highlights.

The Chorley keeper won their man of the match award and deservedly so - we could have snatched a winner had it not been for him.

A good entertaining match and a much improved Darlo performance.

Very entertaining game which on clear-cut chances Darlington should have won.

No weak links in the team today, all the players put in a good shift.

With better finishing it could have been a good 3 points.

The front 3 of Cartman, Thompson and Beck worked very well together and on another day could have bagged a few goals.
Noticeable too the lack of diagonal long punts to Beck. Better build up play to feet despite a gluepot pitch.
Yes we rode our luck on occasions but considering Chorleys league position I have been surprised if they didn't create a few chances in a game.

Cheers Robbo, that's a pretty good following considering how we've been playing recently. Has the ground changed since we played there in our Conference days? Bet a crowd of Bolton fans didn't turn up this time.

A new roof on the stand behind one of the goals, the bank where most of the battling happened and where the police van parked up last time is all cordoned off now for safety reasons.
Otherwise almost exactly the same!
