Boxing Day Bitching Bingo

Post by liddle_4_ever » Sat Dec 24, 2016 11:23 am

We all know some of the good folk of our town are never happy unless they're complaining and we also know with a capacity crowd at a new stadium not everything will go as smoothly as possible, hence Boxing Day Bitching Bingo.

Please post bitchy comments you might expect to hear on Boxing Day. If you do hear them then call bingo, verbally or internally.

I'll start with:

They should have gone back to the Arena.

There's not enough turnstiles.

There's not enough car parking spaces.

There's not enough seats.

They should have made the stadium bigger as "xyz" couldn't get tickets.

*after a player misses a sitter* he's shite, get him off!

Food and drink-related moans are a complete banker.

"Why can't I get a pint in the clubhouse?"

"The food's too expensive."

"The food's not good enough."

LOL, these people always say "they" rather than "we" don't they - immediately highlighting that they're not exactly fans anyway.

Surely anyone who is even a semi regular fan would always talk (or moan) in terms of "we".

A couple of additions...

They should have terraced all around, I can't see.

They should have built a bigger clubhouse, I can't get a pint.

They should have brought more burger vans in, the queues are too big and I'm hungry.

They should have provided more toilets, I need a piss.

They should charge no more than £5 to stand in the open and watch this level of football

And of course after the absolutely inevitable big match defeat...

They never change do they?

It's too windy.

I can't see. It's too sunny.

I can't get a programme.

I can't believe the programme cost a fiver.

You'd like to think there will be a limit on how many people like this will be there when the capacity is 3,300 anyway.... Realistically there'll be a core of around that anyway who are more than familiar with HP over the past few years.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Boxing Day Bitching Bingo

Post by Darlofart » Mon Dec 26, 2016 6:56 pm

Hnnnnnnnnnnngggghhhhhh...,,,,,,,pfffuuuttttttt <warm follow through>.
Overall I thought it was a good effort from all involved and it was great to see 3000 packed into the ground..with the tin shed being brought back to life! Agreed re the catering...I paid £3 for a bag of arguably the worst chips I've ever seen (and tasted). The sooner there's somewhere warmer to go for half time refreshments the better and as expected the Views for many around the ground are restricted. We have a great team off the pitch as well as on it and I'm sure over time things will be a lot better. But a great start overall.

Oof. 3 quid for some chips is a joke like. I didn't have anything, but I'd opt for a Taylor's pie any day. If I hadn't stuffed myself at lunch time, I would've had one. I don't mind paying 3 quid if it's good quality, but 3 quid for some chips is a little silly...

The ground doesn't actually fit £3k unless we take a fairly low view of customer experience. The ground is also too flat for a crowd of this size. Saying that well done to the voluinteers who worked hard there today.

- Clock atop the clubhouse was wrong (as noted above), so second half ended up going on 60 mins longer than planned, which led to Halifax's 2nd goal
- The ground was too far from the town centre; hopefully it will be a shorter walk from Hoskins by the next game otherwise I'm sure attendances will fall
- It was too cold. They need to install undersoil heating and central heating in the tinshed
