LOOK NORTH
Re: LOOK NORTH
Just been reading up on another formerly fan-run club that went back into the hands of an investor. Dave Allen has just resigned as chairman of Chesterfield, saying: "I wish you all the best." Except that he has spelled out the many millions he has put into the club and it's known he has first charge on their £13m stadium. There may be trouble ahead... and it may involve the A word. It's enough to send a shiver down the spine.

Re: LOOK NORTH
Sorry, drifting off-topic here but I was just trying to look up the details of Chesterfield's previous financial shenanigans (seem to remember they got promotion while owing tons of money somewhere?) and found this gem on Wikipedia...
"In the summer of 2016, Chesterfield organised a raffle with the prize being a trip to Hungary on the club's pre-season training camp. However, only four people bought the £20 tickets. The club falsely claimed that 'Surrey-based fan James Higgins' had won the prize, but had been too ill to travel. When it was discovered that James Higgins did not exist, the club issued an apology."

Re: LOOK NORTH
I'm enjoying the fan model, I'd be open to investment but not ownership.
I follow a club (Swansea) who had some calamitous owners, but eventually became fan owned, and despite those fans being utterly clueless, through sound decision making they took us to the Premier league after remortgaging their houses to buy the club from Tony Petty.
My point is that with some good on field decisions anything is possible... Our current right back was bought for 2 grand, integrated into a system and now plays in the Premier league... I see some similarities between what Gray has achieved and what Martinez/Rodgers achieved with Swansea...
let's not talk about ceilings and the limits of what the club and town can achieve because there shouldn't be any...

Re: LOOK NORTH
I think it'll be hard to get any major investment, without any possibility of owning the club.
