Brackley v Darlo Match updates

Post by The_Ozzman_Cometh » Sat Oct 08, 2016 2:21 pm

Brackley had the first corner of the game on3 minutes, the ball was curled over to the far post where Alex Gudger, under a lot of pressure, headed wide.

Quakers had their first chance when a clearance by Jordan Watson was picked up by Liam Hardy, he cut in from the left and hit a low right foot shot that went harmlessly wide.

Quakers went close on 13 minutes, when Terry Galbraith curled a free kick over from the left into the middle, where Gary Brown put a looping header just over the top.

Brackley hit the woodwork on 15 minutes when Glenn Walker whipped a free kick in from the right, and Watson’s attempted clearing header went against his own crossbar and out for a corner.

Darlo starting to get the ball on the ground and passing the ball around. Much better.

Quakers took the lead on 25 minutes with a superb goal. Galbraith came back on the field after lengthy treatment, won the ball in midfield, found mark Beck who then laid the ball off for Stephen Thompson to hit a right foot shot from 25 yards that flew into the top right corner.

Thanks everyone for filling in the blanks. Sounds like a point won rather than 2 dropped and even Fylde didn't manage a win today, so no ground lost there.

Frustrating game today. Felt they were there for the taking. They're very much a team who play on the counter attack. We just couldn't hold the lead and needed a third goal, which we should have had but took too long over a shot. They went straight up the other end and scored the equaliser.
Still can't decide if I'm happy with a point or not.
