Didn't we have a quality centre back on loan in the late 80's / early 90's called John Green? Far too good for us and only stayed for a month or two.

John Green actually signed permanently but I think he left at the end of the second season as his missus didn't like it in Darlo, or some lame excuse like that to get away from a relegated team!

We were actually offered the chance to sign Pallister permanently too but Archie Heaton said we couldn't afford the pittance they wanted, think it was around £5k.

That's the lad - from Rotherham. Didn't remember we signed him permanently. No doubt we got bot all in terms of a transfer fee when he left.

Always thought pallister was defo a short term 4 week loan. Surprised we had the offer to sign him as it was clear as day back then he was quality.
