That's great news and proves the doubters wrong yet again. Well done to all concerned in achieving this in what appears to have been a very complex process. Some people need to have a good look at themselves-strangely the firm who were supposed to have pulled out are the main contractors!!!

Hope we have the ceremonial spade digging for a photo opportunity.

This should have a positive boost for the start of the season, so now the question is how long will it take? really excited about this.

Excellent news. It's taken a long time to get to this position, but we are nearly there now.
What would be good would be a regular update of photos to see how the work is progressing. Hopefully somebody will be in a position to do this!

DFCSG said asphalt, civils and building work will only take a month.
I assume the "added on" drainage works are included in that time span.
Grass growing after drainage & re-seeding works should (weather permitting) take about 6 weeks.
The facility may be ready for early Cup rounds and games.
I suggest the club reduces ticket prices for Cup games to help rebuild support, especially for families and children.
We have to hope that no Skerne flooding occurs in August/September.

Totally agree. Update photos as suggested elsewhere are a no brainer in my view to keep the fans happy.don'tbuythesun wrote:That's great news and proves the doubters wrong yet again. Agreed.poppyfield wrote:Hope we have the ceremonial spade digging for a photo opportunity.
It's an important step in the rebuilding of DFC and there should be a photo at the start of proceedings to be included in our history/archives for future years.
Allow fans to be in the photo for a nominal donation of say, £5 each to the B2B fund?
Alun's promise to the fans: “I’ll make sure I’ll bring players in that are value for money and I want players that want to play for Darlington Football Club, want to progress and move up the league and show the fans that passion.”

For the cost (or donation! ) of a webcam , everyone can watch the development happen in real time !
Re: Work to begin at Blackwell Meadows August the 8th
All being well there should be some event to mark the start of the works and we'll have some footage and coverage of that. We're also hoping to have regular visits so we can show whats happening.Allan Quatermain wrote:Agreed.poppyfield wrote:Hope we have the ceremonial spade digging for a photo opportunity.

Then, if any worker has the cheek to have a break, this board will be full of people playing hell that work has stalled and we'll never be moving intrevstanley wrote:For the cost (or donation! ) of a webcam , everyone can watch the development happen in real time !

Might be better with one of those time lapsed camera's, not sure what's involved in setting one up mind.trevstanley wrote:For the cost (or donation! ) of a webcam , everyone can watch the development happen in real time !
