Re: Newcastle/ Sunderland friendlies
For those who've not been to the Arena for a few years, the bar in the SW corner is now a boxing gym.

Now is not the time to cry
Now’s the time to find out why
I think you’re the same as me
We’ll see things they’ll never see
Darlo’s going to live forever!

Re: Newcastle/ Sunderland friendlies
Will there be cash turnstiles open for the Sunderland game or do I need to buy in advance, my little girl has decided she wants to go now

Same arrangement we used to have at the Arena. You will be able to buy your tickets at the ticket office before entering through the turnstiles.

Better crowd Tuesday? Midweek but Sunderland travel well.

Sadly missed these 2 games as away, but I was surprised at the low attendances for both games.

WHY??? What did you expect against Reserve/under21's bloody hell... People like your good self on holiday/working/hate the arena/ CBA, never gonna be a big pullDarlo_Pete wrote:Sadly missed these 2 games as away, but I was surprised at the low attendances for both games.

I was amazed at the crowds we got for both games. Last season we barely sold 300 tickets to watch Sunderland first team at HP but managed to get over 2k Darlo fans to watch Newcastle reserves and another good crowd for Sunderland reserves at the Arena.HarrytheQuaker wrote:WHY??? Personally I feared sub 1k crowds at both games so to end up with a combined attendance of over 4k was excellent imo and hopefully raised a decent amount for the club.

With Robbie on this one, the games showed me a good appetite in Darlo to watch a football team in Darlington. To get 2.6k and 1.6k against 2 under 21/reserve teams was excellent, I know a number who went to the game who wouldn't go to Bishop to watch Darlo play.
My biggest worry which I am not sure as a club we can do much about is when we move to BM that we won't have neough seats to keep a number of the new interested partied to keep going after they pop along once. However that's something we will just have to deal with and I am hoping the atmosphere in a small ground will keep them coming along.

I noticed that the Falcons played there at the weekend and had just under 1,300 -they average 5,700 when at home so I think our friendly attendances were impressive.
