Good start to the season, as we don't play one of the supposed big boys until FCUM on the 29-8-16.

Re: Full fixture list
If we do move back in October, our first home game at Blackwell Meadows will be Gainsborough Trinity or Worcester City.
That would change depending on how well we do in the FA Cup. So potentially our first home game back could be in the FA Cup.
I do love speculating.

Don't think Altrincham will be far away. Yo-Yo between this division and the Conference. Difficult opener in my opinion.Darlo_Pete wrote:Good start to the season, as we don't play one of the supposed big boys until FCUM on the 29-8-16.

Re: Full fixture list
If what's coming out of Bishop is correct then the first two home games may have to be switched to alternative venues.
Looking forward to Alty new ground for me to chalk off.

Our first match of the season away at Altrincham is very tough.

Altrincham will be up there come end of the season. Very good squad for this league.
Re: Full fixture list
A quick turn around over Christmas period. Play Halifax twice in 5 days. That rapid turnaround used to be a regular feature of the Christmas period

FFS Pete. We play an Altrincham side who will be more than decent. We play Boston who finished in the play-offs last season and a Chorley side who are no mugs either. Goodness sake.
Re: Full fixture list
Pete is probably sat at home chuckling again because he deliberately said something stupid and provoked the reaction.
I realise that I am as bad as the next man for biting when he does it mind.

Re: Full fixture list
Salford away on the last day of the season could be a pain if it means anything for either club.
The FCUM games are brilliantly placed - the home game will be a sell out I'd imagine. Shame the Stockport games are as they are though. If we could have got BM ready for the start of September (probably unlikely) our first game would've been against Kidderminster, which would have been quite poetic.

Re: Full fixture list
If we're playing 2 friendlies at the Arena, and BM isn't ready until October, and HP may not be ready til mid-August, have we explored the option of sharing the Arena for 2 months until BM is ready, now that we're obviously on decent terms with Mowden Park?
Re: Full fixture list
OR-----,the silence and inactivity about BM continues to be baffling. Now we have Mowden Park stating that they have financial "concerns" and all of a sudden, from we don't want you here,we now have two games in a week at the arena.Vodka_Vic wrote:If we're playing 2 friendlies at the Arena, and BM isn't ready until October, and HP may not be ready til mid-August, have we explored the option of sharing the Arena for 2 months until BM is ready, now that we're obviously on decent terms with Mowden Park?
Could this be a "first date" to see how we get on together, with maybe a wedding to come in the near future?.Just a random thought--------.

Re: Full fixture list
I didn't say anything wrong, Atrincham support wise are not one of the biggest clubs. Yes they'll have some decent players, but there are bigger clubs, with better support in our division.

Make no mistake, this isn't the Rusted Transit Van Inbreeding Invitational League where we can pretty much just turn up and smash 70% of the teams in it. Almost all the teams in this league are of a decent quality, with some real pedigree mixed in.

Re: Full fixture list
Alty away will certainly be a good bench mark to see how we are progressing.
Come on Darlo!

Re: Full fixture list
Yes because support wins football matches. That is why the mighty north Ferriby were promoted via the Playoff and puny Stockport County remain in this league.Darlo_Pete wrote:I didn't say anything wrong, Atrincham support wise are not one of the biggest clubs. In reality our first 3 games represent a good challenge chorley finished in good form last season. Altrincham will be one of the favourites of promotion. 4 points from 3 games would represent a decent start.
