Nightingale tried and succeeded with some great passes.Quite a battler as well. Looked like Scott had been body building, so even more upper body strength.

Entertaining game today I thought. We had plenty of the ball and looked pretty sharp considering it was our first run out. Buxton though looked dangerous on the break and perhaps should have been 2-0 up at one point. That said we did have a couple of chances which we might have done better with as well.

Their first goal had an element of good fortune about it. The ball forward saw their man get between two of our defenders. It looked like Jameson had rushed out well to gather but there seemed to be a collision and it broke for their player to finish.

The equaliser was good from Hardy. Some nice build up play involving Armar and Nightingale let Hardy in for a neat finish. Thompson's free kick looked excellent at the time (looking forward to watching that back) and then at the end Mitchell made the most of some poor distribution from their keeper to score.

We never looked in real trouble once we equalised I thought. A good run out. Nightingale impressed for me. Kept popping up in space behind the front two. Looking forward to seeing more of him in pre-season. Always difficult to judge these early pre-season games but overall a good afternoon I thought.

From the clips on YouTube, plenty of promise shown with some room for improvement which is only to be expected for a first run out and a number of new players in the squad. Good to see Amar contributing well, plus Thommo's cracking free kick, as well as both Hardy and Mitchell finding the net. Certainly better than England's Euro efforts.....
