Hat trick for Amar

Amar has notched a hat trick in the Panjab tournament . Hope this is a good sign he is back to full fitness and it carries on into next season

I didn't actually realise Amar would be allowed to play in that competition given his registration with the FA.

I probably read too much into FIFA teams not being allowed to play against CONIFA sides but always had an impression they almost viewed it as unaffiliated football.

Went to Georgia about 20 years ago(one of only 13 visas that year) and was advised not to go to that region.Obviously a lot safer now.

Good link,some interesting teams!

Would be great if Amar could give the forward line some more competition and a few more attacking pairings to give MG some match-changing options. Just hopes he makes it through to the start of the new season back in peak fitness. Oh, and well done Amar!

The competition has made it to the BBC website:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-36429207
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Sounds like this tournament is doing him the world of good. Let's hope Barcelona or Real Madrid haven't got scouts there watching him.

Hope we don't need to get International clearance for him when he returns!

I don't think we're allowed to go there - I could probably get in somehow but the Georgian government probably wouldn't let me back into Georgia again if they found out. A guy got shot dead on the border a couple of weeks ago so it's not an easy place to get to - via Russia is about the only safe way but anyone doing that goes on the Georgian government's list of persona non grata. Amar will be on it now - along with all those other footballers taking part in the tournament.
