Re: FA fixture schedule released
I do get excited about the FA Cup but we just haven't had a good run yet.
In regards to the 6th August start date, plenty were whinging when we had too many games end of the season. We actually have 2 less league games but 2 more Saturdays next season.

Sulking about the early start. We booked a couple of days extra for our hols, wish me thinking it would be safe. Expected it to be much later this season what with Euros. Fingers crossed for Salford away as I have no appetite to go back.

Yes I don`t come back off hols till 7th so hopefully an away game start but then again how are we going to have a home game unless work is done very quickly

Re: FA fixture schedule released
After the season we've just had, I'm really surprised some people are complaining about an earlier start.
It'd only take a good run in the FA Cup and/or Trophy, plus a bit of bad weather to cause problems with the league schedule.

the league started on the same day last year? As les/gramps said most people on here suggested start earlier.

The National League started on the same weekend (August 8th) last season.lo36789 wrote:the league started on the same day last year? As les/gramps said most people on here suggested start earlier.
And it's only a week earlier than the NPL did last season (we were away to Buxton on August 15th).
So it's bizarre anyone is complaining, given our backlog at the end of last season.
Re: FA fixture schedule released
same day / same weekend you know what I meant haha.
As you say only a week earlier and most people seemed to say go 1 week either direction and you really ease the fixture congestion (allows 4 more games in 'good' weather).
