We won't actually be out of the EU for around two years, which coincidentally is when work on Blackwell Meadows is likely to start!quaker4life wrote:FINALLY.....

A meeting between our directors and the directors of the Rugby Club. Hopefully whatever the problems have been, they've now been resolved.

Re: Work at Blackwell Meadows
and yes...
The board of directors of Darlington Football Club would like to confirm that we have been informed by Darlington Rugby Club that they have received the grant money which was requested from the Rugby Football Union, and so in turn, enables us to sign the necessary licence with the Rugby Club very soon.
We will also be appointing a contractor within the next few days, with the intention of starting construction work as soon as possible thereafter.
The official website will keep everyone informed on the progress with Blackwell Meadows.

Yes because the worst weather of the year is in July, August and September isn't it Neil.
If only it was fucking January.

Re: Work at Blackwell Meadows
Any ideas on season ticket numbers sold so far? Will the club release anything about how many sold.

Well, didn't the 500 club sell out for a start?
I imagine it'll be around 900/1000.

Nope it was around the 300 to 400 figure. Generally the precise number of ST tends not to be made known, just rough figures.AndyPark wrote:Well, didn't the 500 club sell out for a start?

Martin Gray has apparently said it will now be "October at the earliest".

Re: Work at Blackwell Meadows
Darlo_Pete our season ticket sales have been announced every year for the past 4 seasons havnt they?
I thought it was 600odd last season down from 800odd in our first NL season. I don't know the precise figures but I have definitely read them - maybe it was in the accounts but thought it was from fans forum output?

As far as I know, no precise figures have been posted on here, they may have been in the accounts or given at a fans forum as you say.

October when completed I hope! I won't be too disappointed if our first match back in Darlo is our New Year fixture, could gain some positive press and perhaps TV. As long as the ground is complete and up to National League North standard long before March!quaker4life wrote:Martin Gray has apparently said it will now be "October at the earliest".

I think you maybe right in what you say about New Year that's a more realistic target I would of thoughtMikeinBlack2 wrote:October when completed I hope! Re: Work at Blackwell Meadows
I've just been catching up with recent news on the official website as I'm a couple of weeks behind but must admit I'm now really confused. Apparently MG has said the move back isn't going to be until October at the earliest yet the statement below (dated 5th July) still predicts we will be playing there late August/early September.
http://darlingtonfootballclub.co.uk/22699-2/
I'm not suggesting there's anything wrong with communications about the move, just that I may have missed something. Grateful for anybody pointing me in the direction of the most up to date info.
Cheers

Alun's promise to the fans: “I’ll make sure I’ll bring players in that are value for money and I want players that want to play for Darlington Football Club, want to progress and move up the league and show the fans that passion.”
Re: Work at Blackwell Meadows
That article originally came out early June, Don't know why it now says July 5th.
N.Echo last Friday said meeting between board and contractors 1 July to agree start date but nothing said since. Just hope this doesn't mean another delay.
