I thought I read in recent weeks that First Group were to takeover the running of the East Coast mainline.

Will this affect the fan offer from Virgin?

EDIT: it appears First Group will be offering services in addition to Virgin.

Rumours are VTEC are losing a million pounds a week on the east coast mainline. Best get the cash up front

Given East Coast paid the government £1bn over five years that's quite an achievement!
