Two year deal for Scott

Well deserved. And more talks going on with other players. Does Gaskell have a contract with the club?

I would be surprised if any of them weren't /aren't under contract tbh.Delighted for Leon getting a new deal, the lad keeps rising to it the higher we go.

Gaskell isn't on a contract. Will be interesting to see what happens with him.

Might be just good enough for conference north at a push but certainly not conference level

Hoping gaskell will stay he will have a very good part to play for us next season

I personally thought the Evo Stik Premier might be a level beyond Scott's capabilities before the season started but he's had an outstanding season and has been the POTY in many people's eyes. If he plays like he has done this year in the National North next season then he won't look out of place. Two year deal totally merited in my opinion.

If nothing else Gaskell's impact was visible from the goal of the season competition!

Contract might have been merited but I'm with offside on this one.
I know players need some kind of guarantees etc but at best I'd have given Leon a year contract and see how he gets on, just concerned regards budgets.
Personally think it's a step too far but happy to be proven wrong.

If there ever was a player to sum up the attitude of the type of player Gray likes it would be Leon Scott. Hard-working, disciplined and a leader.

I could be wrong, but including short-term stints away for the club, Leon has been the only player to play through all 4 seasons since we were demoted and kicked off at Bishop Auckland in 2012.

I know that this now makes Jameson, Burgess, Portas, Scott and Hardy definitely contracted for next season, no doubt Gray will already have current players signed up and meetings to take place shortly with others.

Well done Scotty and very well deserved. He raised his game over the last season more than any other player in our squad. We definitely need to keep Gaskell and I'm surprised that he is now out of contract.

I don't believe Gaskill was ever on a contract, if I remember rightly one of Salford's management duo eluded to this in a tweet on Twitter.

Pleased for Leon, been immense for us this season. Don't quite know how but he keeps getting better! Let's hope he continues into next season.

Also hope Gaskell stays on... Been vital in our run in and definitely has the ability/skills to play in the National League North.

Played a massive part this season and does a lot of the dirty work, plus can run and run and that comes in to play more as the season goes on. Not going to pick a 40 yard pass or score regularly but as said, does something right as we have butchered this league in reality.
