Spennymoor's Playoff Campaign

Post by ian_brown » Wed Apr 13, 2016 9:36 pm

After the wonderful gesture from the club last night I think Darlo fans should (if commitments permit) go along to the Brewery Field and get behind Spenny in their playoff quest.

I wanted to see them promoted long before last night, but there's no doubt whatsoever that I want to see them go up. I think it would be a very nice repayment if their playoff gates are increased by a couple hundred Darlo fans. Maybe a few extra quid in the half time raffle kitty too.

We might have our own play-offs to worry about yet; not concentrating on Spennymoor.

No matter how grateful we are for last night.

This topic might of been better to be held off until our season is done.

Why? The separate division playoffs are on separate nights anyway aren't they?

As far as I am aware; for Premier Division, North and South leagues. All play-off semi finals must be played the Tuesday, Wednesday after season ends and then final on the Saturday.

As we can both at worst finish 2nd then if we both end up in the play offs the games would be the same night, Tue 26th April.

I can't think this far ahead, we have a massive match Saturday because if we win and results go other ways Stamford could be relegated. On the one hand they will probably have to come out and attack but it does mean they will be up for the game.

Also if we win and other results go a certain way we could be one draw away from being virtually certain of the title.

Huge game on Saturday.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Pressure is still on Darlo & Blyth, but if Darlo take the title there will be scope for football loving supporters from Darlington area to cheer on Spennymoor.

How good would it be with hundreds of Darlo drumming, clapping & singing along with their neighbours?

I suppose the NPL title winners will get a cash prize. Bit more money for Darlo collection.

I agree... if it doesn't clash, I'll definitely go... wear a Darlo shirt so their fans know we're Darlo and that we appreciate their help...

I'll be there and a few others, as a way of a thankyou to Brad Groves and STFC for helping us massively, plus hoping to see a good game and you's go up. Nice to see other local clubs break away from the home in time for tea league and have some proper ambition to get up the pyramid.

Trying to follow it on the vaunted Pitchero video clips but so far they don't show the goals at all and make you appreciate the good work of our own lads in bringing video to the masses.
Totally puzzled now, is it 1-1 or 2-0? Evostik site call the Own Goal and Gott scoring but show score as 1-0 :wtf:

The EvoStik site Live Scores has posted 3 videos of goals but all 3 are missing the goals.

http://www.evostikleague.co.uk/match-in ... res/c-1612
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883
