To be fair that's not a bad idea. There was one on The-Tinshed, which would be a pretty good example of how to run it.Darlo_Pete wrote:A prediction league is usually quite popular

Any plans to link to other sites of interest, the official (never up to date) site for example?

Should you not be at the match or are you taking your lap top.

Good idea to sub-divide into a few other topics.TeessideQuaker wrote:An Off-Topic board?

A lot of discussion falls into these categories
Re: The New Permanent Home For The Uncovered Messageboard
id be wary of too many sub forums, i think all football banter in one, and one for off topic would probabaly suffice
it'd be too much of a chew for some people to post in diff sections and would be a nightmare to moderate.
one thing that i would welcome is the ability for threads to be merged, rivals wasnt flexible enough to do this but a phpBB board should, i lost count of the number of times the same topic was discussed in multiple threads on rivals, yes it quite anal, but i think it makes for a better board if all related topics are covered in one thread
im sure the option to lock threads will also be of massive benefit to scott
we used to have a very busy forum let down by the infrastructure of the rivals software, i look forward to having an even better forum going forward.

Yes - agree but I'd like 2 or 3 sub forums.divas wrote:id be wary of too many sub forums, i think all football banter in one, and one for off topic would probabaly suffice

One of the better features here is to be able to "mark as read" and then when you go back you can see where the new posts are.

A football forum and an "everything else" forum, maybe?

Yep. Well done indeed Scott, and to everybody else involved in getting this up and running again.
There is of course, now the thorny question of funding this.
Is it being sustained by the principals putting their own cash in, and will there be the requests for donations? (Paypal, linking to an Amazon account and taking commission, simply handing Mr Thornberry the odd tenner should we see him at the matches?)

Scott (and techies), well done for sorting this! Those of us from far away have always relied on you and before that Mission Impossible to keep us up to date on all things Darlo. I arrived back from two weeks holiday and like you thought it was a glitch but thankfully went to tin shed and found out about your new site. Couldn't believe 22 people were in here when I came in!!! Excellent work...keep it up, especially now you're truly independent.

Is it not time to move on, as feethams is being built on soon. Should we not bury that ghost and call the foram something in the present.
i know i will be slated for this but we have to move on.
